Well, the other thread sank like a rock, so I'll try again with a new subject.

I'm going to be visiting the above cities in a couple weeks, and I sure would like to meet some British, Irish, and Dutch browncoats, if anyone can find time for this Seattle flan.

Here are the dates:

London
Arrive 23 Sep 11:45
Depart 24 Sep 17:00

Arrive 26 Sep 21:20
Depart 30 Sep 07:00

Arrive 07 Oct 16:20
Depart 10 Oct 14:45

===================

Dublin
Arrive 24 Sep 18:10
Depart 26 Sep 20:10

===================

Amsterdam
Arrive 04 Oct 13:15
Depart 07 Oct 16:05

===================
I'll also be in Inverness for an afternoon (3 October), if there are any friendly Scots free that day.

That was October the 8th, However, due to UIP changing the Dutch release from the 6th of october, to the 17th of november (although that might very well change again), this might not happen after all...
We're still trying to get something aranged, but as of now, nothing is certain..

And Emma?...where the hell were you yesterday?

I'm another American browncoat that will be in London for the release on the 7th. I'm actually living in Italy at the moment and I'm flying to London since I can't bear the thought of watching Serenity dubbed in Italian. I'd love to meat up before and/or after the movie.

Crap, I guess I should have been more specific. I've updated my initial post to show precise arrival & departure times.

I am eager to meet you, Emma, especially if you're still willing to show me around, either Amsterdam or another city of your choosing. However, I doubt that I'll be able to make the Utrecht shindig on the 7th, unless it's early in the day, as my flight back to London departs at 16:05.

If you can meet me in Amsterdam (or elsewhere), could you name a time and place?

Damn, I'd love to meet you, but my flight to Dublin is at 17:00 on the 24th. (See my updated opening post.) Any other date/time work for you?

Still haven't heard anything from anyone about any plans meeting up for opening night on the 7th. Hopefully someone will read this and invite us to join them.

Emma, is your schedule wide open 4-7 October, or would any given day be better for you?

And which NL city did you recommend I visit besides Amsterdam when we talked before?

I am working on the Thursday and Friday but will be free the Tuesday/Wednesday. Where you visit outside of the Dam really depends upon what you are interested in - do you want to see the countryside, historic buildings, villages, towns etc etc. The Netherlands is tiny so you can get to many places within one or two hours from Amsterdam Central station. (Utrecht, where I live, is only half an hour away and is full of lovely canals, restaurants, buildings and gameshops.) Of course, the weather around then is likely to be shitty so hikes in the country might not be so fun! I have PMd you my email addy.

As for the London trip you might find you are out of luck - I think a load are going to London on the 5th October - films in the West End open there earlier than the rest of the country, the 7th is the general release date.

Thanks! I'll email you in a moment. I guess my greatest interest is in historical architecture, and just getting a feel for "what the locals do." I would be thrilled if you would be able to show me around Utrecht. (And Amsterdam, if you can be arsed.)

Yeah, I just found out about that yesterday. I wish I'd known a couple weeks ago when I was scheduling where I'd be and when - I specifically arranged to be in Amsterdam on the 6th, thinking that was the NL premiere, and London on the 7th, again, thinking that was the Big Day. Oh well, I guess that's what I get for not researching thoroughly. *sigh*

That would be great - apparently there's something going on in Watford on 8 October, but I'd still love to get together with folks on the 7th for the release.

The other London days that would be best for me are 28-29 September.
