Hi fellow Firefly fans,

Just finished watching Rove Live (in Australia). Rove announced that one of his guests next tuesday, 13/09/2005 at 9:30pm AEST will be none other than Joss Whedon!!!!

Does anyone have any other details about Joss's visit to Australia like what other shows he will be on, or if he's here for any conventions etc?

Sorry... guessed u missed most of the fun. Joss was on Sunrise tuesday morning in sydney... which, im told, was followed by the sydney preview screening of Serenity. After that i know he flew down to Melbourne to appear on ROVE LIVE, then catapolted to the Melb preview screening of Serenity (i attended! OMG ... what a Movie... loved it!),which lead into a Q&A session... (1 and a bit hours of some great and Dumb questions) followed by a 2 and bit hour Signing session. Poor Joss was Working on auto pilot and joked that he had to magically re-animate his hand to keep signing... which we all VERY much appreciated especially since he finished at 2am. What a trooper! a Professional to the end. Ur fans Down under owe u one Mr. Whedon!

I've mentioned it before, but I'd like to state once again how cut I am that I missed Joss's visit, given I was only 1 hour away. Seriously, the Australian media needs to learn how to advertise months in advance, rather than letting us know about things like this after it's too late to get tickets. Grrr! Arg!!!

I agree totally Smith. They have no idea!! I didn't even know about the "Sunrise" thing. We get the same broadcast in Adelaide, just delayed by 1/2 hour.

Is it just me not looking hard enough, or have there seriously been NO adverts for Serenity at ALL?!!!!! I've seen plenty for flicks like "Willy Wonka" and "the Dukes of Hazzard" (enough to quote lines out of already and I haven't even seen them!!!!) but none for Serenity and it premiers in a fortnights time!

Sunrise and Rove Joss interviews were pretty good I thought. I was expecting to cringe at the interviewers questions but it all went well.

Joss is also supposed to be on the movie show as well. Not sure which movie show or when.. anyone knowing please tell.

There was a preview for Serenity when I went to see "Red Eye" (and, frankly, that preview was the most exciting thing about that trip to the cinema).

I know when Joss was here he did an extraordinary amount of press interviews and, given the Australian media and how they present upcoming flicks, I would expect all the interviews and previews and hype about the movie to start hitting next week.

And there was the Empire Mag with the promotional Firefly DVD (we got 'the train job', plus lots of dragoncon cast footage, some still shots of Serenity, two trailers, etc... it was pretty cool for a free DVD with mag deal).

Usually all the hype comes out one or two weeks before, unless it's really big.

I know there's a Joss interview with Chit Chat on Foxtel during "The Know", which I expect to air either this weekend or next weekend.

The media is out there.
