Well, here's the trouble as I see it. The company wants to be able to provide this Q&A to it's customers as part of the bonuses on the DVD (as opposed to just an interview with the writer/director). But because we now all have to be afraid that some damned fool will think that participating entitles them to take the company to court, they are forced to go through these legal gyrations to attempt to forestall it.

Not that I have big warm fuzzies for big multinational conglomorates. However, I also do not think that they are the root of ALL evil. In this case, the root of the evil is one-in-a-million who might look at this event as a chance to take the company for a ride and come away with some cash. And because they wouldn't be laughed out of court as they out to be, the company has to inconvenience itself and eveyone else by stating the obvious: This is supposed to be fun, an experience that you might not otherwise have available to you. But they made it available, for a price. You paid it, you had your fun. Should they then want to extend that fun to others (like, those who couldn't attend because of cost, size of the venue, or living north of the equator...whatever) in the context of the DVD, why should they owe anyone who attended and/or asked a question, anything.

It's the same circumstance that forces McDonald's to warn you that COFFEE IS HOT and the hair dryer maker to caution you against using it in the bathtub. Duh!

The upshot of the thing is that if they drop the whole idea because they can't get consent from every person who's in-frame when they pan the audience or look at a person asking a question, they don't suffer much, but the rest of us do. I'd love to see it. I'm sure millions of other people who haven't even seen the film yet, but would pre-order the DVD TODAY if they could would also like to see it. So, thanks, for taking this teensy little inconvenience that has been foisted on all of us by the lawsuit-filers and ambulance-chasers, and blowing it completely out of proportion.

You thing about the oceans being made for man who has no gills, seriously that made my day! I never laughed so hard. Cos it's so true!! (although a co-worker told me we don't have gills cos the oceans are there to keep us on our little parcels of land).

I need to go sue this paper bag, I fear I am trapped for all eternity!

BTW: I don't understand why one person feels the need to ruin the DVD Q&A for everyone. When I read that there was going to be a Q&A after the showing in Oz, I thought it was mentioned that this would be taped for use on the DVD. I swear to the Flying Spaghetti Monster of Creation that I saw that. Which to me says everyone was informed when the event was announced.

I just want the gorram DVD to be out by Christmas with my Q&A sessions and blooper reel and the big damn movie.

All Hail the Flying Spaghetti Monster!!!

BARCLAY

It's nice to see someone else here who has been touched by His Noodly Appendage.

Oh yeah, DVD, right. I think we're getting to the point where this thread is beating a dead horse. Though, if the original poster would like to post an update of his/her actions and progress, it would be interesting.
