New Artists challenge - How about a CD cover for our new Soundtracks?

After all, this is "our" soundtrack. Sure, we all like the original DVD box set pic, but we can do better. I'm actually working on my own soundtrack version lovingly named "Big Damn Firefly Soundtrack" using the files from Fox as well as Sneaker's mp3's of Adam singing Hero of Canton, & Joss singing the Ballad of Serenity, as well as Mal's song by Michelle (I'll have to get her last name), The Ballad of Joss by (The Bedlam Bards) and a few select sound clips from www.wavsite.com such as the opening intros, the episode version of Hero of Canton, as well as my own audio rip of the International trailer, and the four free clips of the upcoming serenity soundtrack, all topped off with the GRR ARGH at the end. I'll post the track listing & sources tomorrow.

My plan is to put a nice pic of Greg Edmonson on the back, the man deserves major props.

I'm going to be making myself a cover & track listing (putting mine in a thin jewelcase, so not a lot of space there) for the 17 songs from Fox (I may add the closing tittles, I felt that they were missing). I'll post it in the BSR whenever I get around to making it, and I'd be happy to make some with alternate track listings when I'm done.

I'm making mine 4 3/4" by 4 3/4" with an 1/8" bleed all around, at 300 DPI. I measured the dimensions and this is probably the best resolution for printing. it could go down to 200 DPI if your photos are small though.

Well, my BDFS is still a little rough. I'm looking for a full version of the scene in Safe when River starts dancing right until she stops with Book being shot & the kidnapping. I do not have the ability to rip the audio from my DVD's or I would do this my self. If anyone can provide this mp3 I would take it as a kindness. I've sent a blurb to Sneaker98, to see what can be done. Sneaker98 has two mp3's of some of this but not all of it. Also if anyone has a quality wav or mp3 of Book & Mal's intros from the show. I'd like to up the quality of what I have. Any suggestions appreciated. Some awesome artwork so far. I'm not so much looking for a cover for my CD as I am most appreciative I just thought it would be a fun challenge for some of the Wallpaper artists here to try their hand at a different medium, and so far the results are Very "shiny"

StillShiny, I got this free software off download.com that would work. it's called SoundCapture and it records whatever sound that's passing through your soundcard. I just did a quick search on download.com and couldn't find it, but you could try the company who makes it: magicsofts.com.

and if you still can't find it then, I can email it to you if you'd like ;)
