Ok Browncoats, here's the deal.

We have to make this movie a fiscal sucess in the eyes of the studio, so we need to generate some numbers at the box office.

If you look at the fact that over 500,000 dvd's have been purchased we can reasonably assume that there are at least 500,000 firefly fans.

At an average of $8 a ticket, we're looking at a paudry $4 million dollar gross based on one time viewing.

Last weekend, the top grossing movie was "Just Like Heaven" at $16.5 Million Dollars.

So if EVERYONE who bought the DVD can turn up at the theater with 3 Non-Browncoat Friends, we can really make a go at this thing. If SERENITY a movie that most of America has never heard of makes it to the top of the Box Office Charts, we can count on the "What the Fuck" factor to bring a lot of the rest of America into the theater for weekend 2.

It really shouldn't be that hard to do. And if you don't have the 3 friends just go see it 4 times (you know you want to do this).

And if you can bring three friends 4 times...all the better.

Come on troops! We can do this!

Where did you get the 500k figure? I've never seen any solid numbers for that.

Oh and yeah, I got at least a dozen people going directly/indirectly because of me :)

Opening night in Baton Rouge will see my troupe of 7. That is if we dont go two times! I know there's gotta be some more cajun Browncoats around here. Plus all those newbies! I think our BDM is gonna be a smashing success!

You mean I'm the only one going to see it ten times? Oh dear.

I'll be bringing at least three people come opening weekend!

No, you're not the only one. I'm going to go see it AT LEAST ten times. And I too am bringing a platoon sized element to the show on opening weekend.

Muster the reserves folks. Shake the bushes. AND FILL THOSE SEATS!

I've done a bit of duty, having paid full ticket price to see one of the two screenings I've gone to (six tickets, I do believe) but I'm DEFINITELY doing what I can to make Serenity rock.

On opening night, I'm probably bringing along one, possibly two, of my converts from school, my sister and my dad (who has seen it with me twice, but might as well do so again ^_^) On Saturday, I plan to see it again with whoever is willing. I then plan to find more and more people to see it with on following weekends.

I'm afraid we may lose two who were planning to go opening weeking - a friend of a friend's is pregnant, and her due date is quite close to September 30th! Sadly, they won't name the child Joss or YoSafBridge, but I would love for her to have it on everyone's favorite day.

English gal here planning on doing her part for the October 7th release in the UK... every little counts, right?

I don't have more than one friend at the minute LOL! Just moved into my new house in a new city... planning on going four times though. And gonna try to convince my university cinema to play it.

Got a bunch friends over to watch Friday night. Then Saturday night got another group I've been showing the series to this past month going.

I got my Firefly TV series when it first came out. Its probably spent 3 months in total with me. Its probably done more traveling then I have. :)

And of course, just because the movie starts on Sept 30 doesn't mean the converting stops. Even set up a short to the point website about the movie and how it ties to Firefly. Even has its own trailers. I get into this stuff sometimes. (You can see the link on my blog site.)

Most of my friends I've gotten hooked on Firefly aren't fans of any sci-fi. But usually the pilot show does it.

4 more days... I can't wait.
