When it came to the BDM, I guess I didn't expect much, if any, of the mainstream media to "get it" the way fanboys and genre sites do...but Ken Tucker, of New York Magazine, has just published a rave review of our heroes' new adventures.

Check it out:

A few more like this and we'll have all the sequels we want

OY! Put a spoiler warning on this post!

How many months now have we had of people being reminded to do that and they still don't?!

"Go out and see Joss Whedon’s witty whizbang of an action movie, or we will kill a kitten."

Gotta love that. What a great review.

Indeed.

Worth forwarding to people who may be "on the fence" about seeing the movie.

First time posting... been a member since this site started, and was a member of the Fox fan site way back in the day. I really can't wait for this movie... I'm draging everyone I know. As I sit here at my college in my Blue Sun Tee shirt... :)

Doing just that.
Actually, I'm forwarding this review to EVERYONE I know. My friends, and even some strangers, have heard me wax rhapsodic about Firefly and Serenity for...well...years and month.

Ken Tucker also happens to be the entertainment critic for NPR's Fresh Air. Let's hope he reviews it as glowingly on the national airwaves!

That's gorgeous.
I can't send it to anybody, though, 'cause there are things in it that I was glad came as a surprise to me. Maybe my non-fan friends who're already sick of me talking about it?

It's awesome that it's the same guy who does the NPR reviews, too. Not mentioning a movie like Serenity after seeing it would be like trying not to ... I dunno'. Trying not to do something impossible.

:)

I like it that he mentions Wonder Woman, though, to convince the people who might not know Joss that he's worth taking seriously...
"I mean, those superhero flicks are big deals, right? So this Buffy dude, well, if he scores Wonder Woman, somebody must think he's pretty good, right?"

I tried to get in to post this news about the great review, which I am so pleased to see, but someone beat me to the punch:-( Oh well, anyway, I am very much hoping to see the film and it should be great. Oh, by the way, I sort of don't like the expression referring to killing a kitten. It offends me, as I love cats and animals and there is enough cruelty to them in this world. In any case, I will be most interested to see the other reviews coming in. Oh, I also got the trading card set and thought it was quite good, would recommend it to anyone. Best to all, Connie
