Jonathon Ross gave a quick mention to to what's on next weeks show.

" A flop television show becomes the exellent multi million dollar space film Serenity ".

Okay, the flop bit isn't so good, but Ross has "ALOT" of respect here as a film reviewer. This is very good news indeed. Can't wait for next week now.

Yep ......................... that went well!

Well, technically it was a flop, though Ross could have been a little clearer. Tch, eh?

But no matter! For Ross is a true geek, he reads comics, worships Neil Gaiman, watches anime and everything! Don't worry, he'll set the record straight in the review and say how good Firefly is as well, I can't see how he wouldn't. Ross loves to champion obscure things (but not obscure for much longer, perhaps? Hope! Hope!) and I recall him being a Whedon fan. And his show is the No.1 film review show in the UK.

So expect a cracking review for the film and maybe a plug for the DVD.

(Touch wood)

P.S: I wonder if Newsnight Review will get in on the act? > Tom Paulin: "I... I... I... I... I... I... I... I... I... I... quite... quite..." (C'mon, Tom! 'Quite liked it?' 'Quite didn't like it?' He always keeps you in suspense, the tortoise faced lovable cantankerous contrary critic!)

"If you can keep your head whilst others... eurgh! Ack! I've spilt my ink! Ugh! Ink on my trousers! Agh! Ink on my shirt! My only hope! The window! Aieeeeee!" (Falls to death)

Yep I stayed up wait to watch it in the hope that Serenity would be reviewed this week. Despite regularly watching Film 2005 I'm not normally a Jonathon Ross fan.

It wasn't shown but at least I know it's on next week. Plus I saw my first UK TV Spot for it during Without A Trace!! Have there been other spots previously in the UK???

WOW hope you still make the UK release showing.

It's one of my friends from works leaving do on the 7th at this posh place in Leeds so I have to devise a way of sneaking out for 2 hours to see it again and gettin back unnoticed

My initial thought was get everyone drunk so they won't notice but if you know a cheaper way let me know!!!

Erm...buy him a ticket to Serenity as his leaving present?

"But ooh, wudja look at that! It starts in half an hour, we had better get going!"

And yeah, I'll make it in time to see it at least once opening day.

I guess Mark Kermode (sp) will cover Serenity on next Friday's Radio5 review show - It will be available as an mp3 podcast here
http://www.bbc.co.uk/fivelive/entertainment/kermode.shtml

I wonder if Radio4 'Front Row' (daily arts prog) will cover it
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/arts/frontrow/index.shtml

The R4 'Film programme' will have JW interview on Serenity next saturday.

Thinking about it, I think Ross used the word 'FLOP' as a contrast to 'EXELLENT'. And er, they did show a few tiny clips of Serenity.
Ross is indeed a geek, can't say I particularly like the man, but he does give credit where it's due.

Yep ......................... that went well!

Monday, BBC1 at 11.25pm -- straight after Jack Dee.

Well, I'm currently a bit of a fan of "Wossy", but if he does put down Serenity...
I'll set my video.

Emma!

You must like Tom Paulin!

You know, he stopped that bus from falling off that bridge with the orphan children in.

You know, you must remember. Okay, do you remember how he soothed that lion with an Irish folk song when it was running amok in Mothercare? Yes? No? You must know him, c'mon.

Right. That evil villain Mr Bounder held Dover to hostage with a container lorry full of rabid weasels - and Paulin caught them all in a big net saving the day... you do remember that, don't you?

He punched Germaine Greer in the face when she said Lord of the Rings was phallocentric...? Remember....? Jools Holland cheered...?

Guess we are thinking of different Tom Paulin's then.

Wait a second...

What year is this?

Who's the President of the United States?!

AGGGGGH! (Runs out of pub)

1) I saw the repeat on Saturday -- Ross said "exultant", meaning, in Mal's words, "rise again".

2) Favourable review. All the clips were from www.serenitymovie.com by the looks of things. The programme was made better by seeing Chiwetel Ejiofor (the Operative) in another film released in the UK this week...in which he plays a drag queen. Hi-larious.
