Okay, I'm new to the show. I actually just finished watching it first to last but I'm hooked!. The show is awesome in so many ways and I can't wait for the movie!!!I've telling everyone how great the show is since I started watching and have a few people tagged to see the movie.

MNEMOSYNE

Pretty much my story, too. Saw the trailer when I went to go see "The 40 Year Old Virgin" and thought it looked like a fun movie (plus I must admit to watching the soap opera Nathan Fillion used to be on) so I figured I'd get the first DVD from Netflix and see what all the fuss was about. I didn't bother ordering the rest, marched right on over to Best Buy and bought the set because I couldn't wait to see the rest of the eps. I absolutely love the show, and I think the reason for that is that the characters draw you in and make you really care about them. I think you can have any kind of great plot or story in any kind of genre, but it doesn't work if you don't care about the characters. Joss and the gang do a great job of that.

Anywho, got the hubby, mom and dad, brother and girlfriend, and about 5 friends heading out this weekend to the BDM. Can't wait!

I suppose this is long enough for a first post!

SHADOWGUARDS

The characters are awesome and you really do want to find out what happens to them. Plus, it's a new spin on two old genres, sci-fi and westerns. Maybe it also helps I've wanted a duster/brown coat,whatever, even though I have no use for it in the "badlands" of PA.

Hehe, I think most folks around here were hooked from the beginning, and many at least tempted to watch the whole thing from start-to-finish if possible.

It was like when I play Civilization. Except instead of saying "just one more turn, then I'll go to bed" it's like "just one more episode, then I'll go to bed". Next thing I know, it's 4AM. KF

im a new fanatic as well. started watching when it started up on Scifi.

i think what i like the most about Firefly is the genius mix of futuristic scifi and old western. they r like space outlaws. just awsome! how they dress really help give the old western feel.

also ofcourse the cast is excellent! Jayne can be just funny as hell, but too greedy for his own good.

Mal can be like really serious and act like a heartless bastard, but really has a lot of honor
and is like the main hero.

Kalley the mechanic.... wow the Out of Gas episode shows how hot she can get

i like the love interest she has with Simon.

wich brings me to Simon... the doctor... in the earlier eps hes kinda... bleh... but he grew on me... like the love interest between him and Kalley. wonder what will happen between them in the movie.

River the one that the movie seems to be based around mostly. very very interesting she is. and those blue handed guys who want her.... cant wait to find out whats up with them. what i like about her is that she seems to talk nonsense or do some thing that doesnt make sense exactly until we the audience figure it out. the crew seem to ignore her tho....

Book adds personality to the crew. they could have done without this character but hes alright.

Zoe is awsome! so is her husband (the pilot. cant remember name). my point is every one is awsome. this is easily one of my fav shows of all time. only show i maybe like better is The Shield.

Same here. Although I think Joss is hopeing to get the green light to make a sequal to Serenity. Or that was hinted some where that I read or heard. Can't remember for sure. I'd rather Joss does another season and then right away another movie and just continue doing that. I posted this in another thread and I'll post it again. I think it would be awsome if he did another season of Firefly that leads up to another movie wich in the movie we get all the big questions answered and all the really really huge stuff happens. I'd like that very much. Be kinda like having the movie being the season finale.
