so wash is my fav. character and after seeing the BDM i went home and had a drink b'c i was very upset. BUT looking at it from a non-browncoat P.O.V. it makes sense. they might not realize that book was ever on the ship, and in a movie about a group of heroes one dying usually happens. besides just being pissed let me know what u think.

Book and Wash are my least fav. characters of Firefly. I still like them though.

Book I don't think is a huge lost because he was never really that important to the show. Sure he had his moments, but they could of done well without him. He was an interesting concept though that grew on me. Still not a huge lost. Don't think his death will highly effect future Firefly season(s) and/or movie(s).

Wash on the other hand I think has always been real important. Sad to see him go. Firefly surely will never be the same. Although I'm not pissed about his death. It was shocking as hell and I'll miss him, but in my opinion his death is great for future story lines. Really gives the opportunity to shake things up with future Firefly. So I think his death is a good death. And the presentation of his death was flawless! I don't think any one saw that coming at all wich is just great writing. Still I'll miss him, but it was a good death.

If either were my fav then I'd be highly pissed. I don't actually have a fav though...

I don't think it has to do with the outside perspective. Joss made this movie because us mighty fireflyfans made enough of a fuss for long enough. It's for us and it's for the series. I have already heard multiple accounts of people buying the DVD's after seeing the movie.

Joss does things like that. He is one of the few people brave and bold enough to make movies and shows real enough. Shit happens in life. Things don't always work out perfectly. Season whatsit in Buffy where she's standing in the field shouting up at Riley as he's taking off in the chopper -- it was pure chance and nothing else that kept him from happening a glance in her direction. Stuff like that happens in real life. People die in war and ship (plane) crashes.

It's the only thing I disliked in the whole entire movie, but I'm not complaining about it. It was well done to say the least. It was powerful and it was Joss's masterpiece. It's what he does, and it's what he does well.

Whoa!!!!! I think you had better watch the entire series and reconsider your statement. Book was very important to the show, and a very big loss!

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

I will miss both, but of the two I will miss Wash & his humor the most.

I do believe that Wash's death will have a great amount of impact on Mal & Zoe, less so on the rest of the crew. It will definitely make for some great plot & character development.

Now all we have to do is push the BDM up to 80 million so we can get a sequel to see what happens. So, everybody go see the movie again this week as many times as you can & take friends.
