Ya'll look worried. I'd be too if my Serenity looked like it might not hold together. But you shouldn't be worried.

Ya'll are a mite scared that this Serenity's slowin' for good...But we're just pausin' on the next planet. Takin' on more passengers.

I've been hearin' a whole heap a whinin' like you was all core planet civilians. But last I checked, we was standing on a rim planet and if I ain't mistaken you're all wearin' brown!

Last weekend was a bit of a stumble--but still a success-- I understand that, but we are Browncoats! When we can't walk, we crawl, and when we can't crawl we find someone to carry us. And why is that! Why do we keep fightin' even when things are lookin' grim? Why do we drag ourselves from the trench of a cancelled show that sparked life into storytellin' to stand shoulder to shoulder? Why? Because we believe in somethin'.

I believe that good stories need to be told. I believe that inherent in the FireFly/Serenity 'verse is a sense of community against all odds that we Browncoats have somehow come to embody. Somehow-Mal might say it's love--we have kept Serenity in the air and to me that's really somethin'.

I ain't no trigger happy hot-head, but I ain't blessed with a level head either. Many on this board is speakin' patience, other's might say I was preaching to the choir, but the point is Universal ain't gonna be sending along no reinforcements. We are on our own here and I don't believe we have to sit back and wait for a miracle.

You've told your friends and family, you've put up posters and now you're just waitin' to see what's goin' to happen. Well, I for one am not just gonna sit back and wait. Sure our story ain't cheap, seeing it again and again, just ain't an option for some. But Serenity has given us too much for us to just sit back and hope she makes it through the storm, hopin' she holds together.

That sense of community we took to heart brought us further than we thought possible and now Serenity's got hundreds of thousands of mouths to tell her story.

I ain't askin' for a fever pitch mob, I'm askin' for all you level-headed wonders in brown to talk to more folk, push the signal further. It's you that most folk is gonna listen to.

You're right. It's the story that's got to carry, it's the story that's gotta bring people in and some just ain't gonna like it. But how do you think FireFly got into the hands of many of us new recruits? You level-headed folk put the DVDs in our hands and said 'hey. this is good. Check it out.'

To those of you whinin' about the numbers. Trust your level-headed comrades as you did before. Serenity'll pull through, but we can help keep her rusty parts together.

To those Level-headed folk easin' back to let thing's run their course. We got a long march ahead of us, and though we require your humor and clear heads, we need your passion more to keep us going.

The 'verse that created this community and made me a browncoat is just building momentum and we can help. For those who stood shoulder to shoulder to keep Serenity Flyin', keep on standin'. We don't need to sit back and hope she hold's together.

Tell more people, show them Good Reviews, Show them Orson Scott Card's Review. But be honest with 'em too. It's a Genre film and some folk just don't get their kicks from that.

Don't just let the ball fall in the movie's court. Make it your ball and convince people to love and play the game as we do.

Ya'll are my Heroes for gettin it this far and I can't think of a better crew of people to converse with. We're here for the long haul, steady as she goes. But it ain't no time to rest either.

Well...

That was. . .

that was certainly...ummmm . . .'rustic'. . .wasn't it?

Well said, though.

I suppose that was a bit contrived, but I wanted to tell people how I feel.

I don't think the mob mentality will really work, but I don't want people to just sit back thinking they've done everything they can to help make the movie successful.

Don't get me wrong, it is a success, but damned if we can't make it more so.

Actually, everything you said was pretty much dead-bang. I was only teasing because most Browncoats seem to have taken on quite a rustic dialect...most like it comes from watching over and over and over. I find it very heartwarming. It was that way in Afghanistan when we watched the DVDs over and over and over. . .which was really funny when it came from the mouth of someone with a thick Brooklyn accent.

Yeah, the inspirational speech was kinda dampened in its effectiveness by the whole "sounding like I'm from the show" thing.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Dialect aside, I think we can all use some motivation and positive encouragement right now.

I implore all Browncoats to get out there this weekend and see the movie as much as you can afford. Take friends, family, co-workers, whoever. Buy an extra ticket in memory of Lux. Do whatever you have to do. We need to make this weekend big to hold the line.

The "dialect" sold it for me; maybe it's just 'cause i like adopting certain manners of speech that i find somewhat charming, but that's not really the point.

You said it well. This isn't a situation where we can give up, leave it in the hands of anyone else. This is a movie that all of us worked for, and we helped get our ship back into the sky. We can't let it fall now, for any reason.

This weekend, i'm going to see Serenity at least three times; Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I'll take a certain crazy lady i know with me, and pay for her ticket. I'll buy a ticket for the browncoats that can't make it.

I want to see this story told. I want people to know about it, and come to love it as i have. I'll do my part in seeing this battle through.

Joss asked us to hold. So i'm going to hold. I'm sure i won't be alone on the line. One of the things that i came to love about Firefly is the fanbase; you guys help to make it more than just another television show.

I'd never want to leave Serenity. And i sure as Hell won't let it be taken from me without a fight.
