I did. I'm not sure how, since I lurked here and elsewhere a good bit, but I made it into the theatre with nothing that wasn't in the series or the trailers. I can still think back on my raw emotions and break out in a cold sweat.

I did. The only things I knew were what I saw in the trailer.

And the experience was pure pleasurable surprise and enjoyment.

Me, too. I somehow managed to stay almost entirely spoiler-free. Man. My nerves were shot comin' out of that theater. I loved it!

There was an incident that was sad that I kind of knew was going to happen...

And then one that blindsided me... my heart was beating out of my chest and I was breathing like someone having a heart attack.

I have NEVER had a cinematic experience like that. I saw it again last night... same heart beating, but my breathing eased a little since it didn't catch me off-guard.

Whew... GREAT STUFF JOSS!!!! EVERYONE SHOULD SEE THIS MOVIE!!!

Not me. I hit The Big Spoiler right here on FFF.net just days before the premiere, in a thread that gave absolutely no warning. And I had tried very hard to avoid the spoilers up till then.

I am very angry with one of our bretheren here (who shall remain nameless). It didn't ruin the BDM for me, but it did reduce the impact greatly.

It was in a thread titled "A Message From Joss", though possibly the spoiler has been hidden or a warning added since I saw it.

After months of dedicated spoiler avoidance, I was spoiled THREE DAYS before the premier by some merchandise on CafePress.

Suffice it to say, I did not make a purchase.

I saw it without being spoiled on all but one point.

To avoid having to mark spoilers, I'll say it was listed as most people's "number two" shock, not the "number one" shock. So, there was still some huge things I was floored by.

I was spoiled, though, by looking at the Serenity soundtrack's track names. Somebody even warned me (on these boards) before I did it! But no, like Lot's wife, I just had to take a peek. KF

I watched it without having received any spoilers. I did have to avoid reading any posts that remotely sounded like they reviewed or otherwise discussed the movie. Same for news articles.

I managed to come across an LJ regarding comments of the prescreened movie.
Also there were the pics, dsiscussions, and trailers for the movie. Oh and the visual companion...I only read a few lines of the script. Not to mention read ahead confirming what was discussed on the lj thingy.

I've been slightly spoiled...but not entirely. The movie still caught me by surprise though.

I was spoiled by a dork on the 'versal board who used the spoiler AS the topic of his thread. It was a BIG one, too (you know the one I'm talking about). Even so, I was still able to feel the appropriate emotions when it happens (and continue to feel them even after 5 viewings). Such is the greatness of the movie, I think.

Me too!

I got kept away from FFF.net for about a month and a half b/c of move then no net then busy with honours project stuff, etc. Also, we still haven't gotten around to getting cable (any tv really) yet, so that saved me commercials.

Total, I got two shots of on set where I saw an Alan and Ron in "uniform" but, Ron was wereing something that wasn't in the movie. Aside from that, I caught literally two seconds of commercial while at the parents place before realizing and changing channels.

That's entering pretty clean if you ask me

well I did, but I did it the easy way...
I knew I would go balistic if I got spoiled,
so I drove 400 miles to Chicago to see the BDM as an
Advanced Screening on May 5th....
and boy was I glad I did!
the next day the official board was covered with spoilers!

Seeing it unspoiled was amazing, I was so beside myself with excitement going into the theater,
not having a clue as to anything that was coming...
and going out totally over-whelmed...
I couldn't think about anything else for days!

I'm planning to see the film for the 5th time this weekend!

Likewise. I avoided the boards for quite a while, because even the "non-spoiler" threads talking about the preview screenings felt like they veered a bit too close to the edge to me.

I did know this: that there was a "big spoiler" out there, and that it was bad rather than good. I suspected the general nature of the event, but didn't know anything more than that.

Then I saw the movie. When what I'll call "surprise #1" happened, I thought, "Oh, that was the 'it' I've been worrying about."

And then I relaxed. And then "surprise #2" happened, and I just sat there for the next several minutes with my mouth hanging open, watching the screen but not really catching what was going on. Can't...believe...what...did...I...just....see....?

I am now a solid convert to the "no spoilers" school. Wow.

You know what sucks? I know this isn't Firely, (which I seen with no spoilers), but I read only the Hobbit growing up out of all Tolkien's books, and seen the cartoon 'Lord of the Rings.'
All those years and I don't know how the story ends, but after seeing the film Fellowship of the Ring; some dude tells me how Frodo gets his finger bit off, and Golem falls into the fire at the end of the last book. This was after I asked him to not spoil the story. Grrrr!

Of topic some I know.

See, lots of people think they were unspoiled. But it's like The Sixth Sense. Lots of people thought they were unspoiled but then claimed they worked out the twist ending before it was revealed. (Bruce Willis is a ghost by the way. Yeah, you really should have seen it by now.)

There have been dozens of forums posts with suggestive headers and of course there has been an absence of posts with headers suggesting something diffent.

I didn't have that. I went to the first preview screening that they held in the UK about seven months ago. I had no clue what it was going to be about. I knew reavers. I knew they were all back. I'd seen a couple of production photos. That was it.

I watched it with no spoilers, truly no spoilers. Blew me away. Absolutely blew me away.

Me and my girlfriend saw an advanced preview last night over here in England and all we'd seen was the trailers and a couple of tv interviews that were no way any type of spoiler and both our hearts dropped and were shocked, still are, at the movie.

But that aside from that, the movie was amazing, makes your heart work over time and is a real seat ballancer act but its worth seeing.

I bought the British version of the official movie magazine last week and my girlfriend deliberately hid it from me because we both knew full well that i would read it and be either disapointed, shocked, thrilled, saddened, happy, histerical and every emotion under the sun, so i was 'forbidden' to search for it and read it.
However, now ive seen the film, i can read it and read the spoilers etc.

Just hope she gives it to me cos i havnt the slightes idea in hell where shes put it.

Kudos to all the posters on this board, I was Big Spoiler free when I first saw the movie at the Premiere on 22 Sep. In fact, I was so Big Spoiler free I didn't even know that there was a Big Spoiler.

I watched this site in the week leading up to the US release on 30 Sep and I didn't see anyone divulge any Big Spoilers. I think this shows a lot of class.

Many years ago, a person -- after I explicitly told him not to -- divulged to me the Big Spoiler in "Alien". May he burn in that Special Hell.

Same here...no spoilers at all. Don't watch much TV, so I never saw the trailers/ads. Didn't come to the boards until after I saw the movie. I went into the theater (second ticket purchased in my area) completely untainted and anticpating an exceptional entertainment experience!

I was totally unspoiled for the advance preview I went to in June. TOTALLY. Unspoiled. As a result I practically had a nervous breakdown on my way out of the theatre! It took me a LONG time to recover and want to see the film again ...

But now I've seen it 3 more times, and I've decided I love it. In fact, I think it's a gorram masterpiece. I plan on at least twice more this weekend.

I'm a big no spoilers guy. I hate any bit of spoilers now that I've tried it.

So, I didn't see the trailer or anything before seeing the 5/5/05 advance screening. I loved it!

I went no spoilers for Episode II and thought it was way better than most people did. Same thing with Episode III and I still thought that stunk. I did it for all the matrixes and I liked them all well enough.

Basically I'm way too into solving puzzles. I'll know good and well if I saw a bit of something in a preview that hasn't happened yet. I'll be trying to figure out when that will happen and what it means. I'm much happier seeing the movie move along and having the moment where I go..."oh my gosh there's gonna be a fight between those two guys! Cool!" rather than "hmmmm, those guys haven't fought yet so their gonna live through this at least".
