That's me and my friends.

The TV show:
We have lot's of friends, play D&D, ex-box live games; and watch movies and everything. One of our friends had the complete Firefly series set, and got us all hooked. Two more of us bought the set so we didn't have to keep borrowing the disks.
Most of us are guilty of helping the show get cancelled, because only the guy who first bought the set seen any of the shows on TV. I had seen the trailers, and thought it was interesting; but missed it in broadcast.

The Comic books:

I've read two of the three. They keep the flavor of the show pretty well. Supposedly, they take place in the gap between the series, and the film.

The Movie:

Seen it on opening day, and liked it a lot. A little more flashy to be sure; but they didn't break the feel of the series too much, and that's good.
My roomate bought up all the tickets on opening day, and handed them out. He spent about $1,200. He gave away all but 6 so he did well handing them out. He's got a lot of money, but man that's devoted.

The best stuff:
What I like best about the show is how the characters all seem to come from earth unlike much Sci Fi. The cities have refuse, rust; and even people acting like you'd expect people to act, and the human characters have ideals and beliefs besides the Prime Directive. Star Trek is what caused doubt I will enjoy Science Fiction, and Firefly is everything it's not.
My favorite settings are the bustling cities. Not the capital cities, but the ones that seem a blend of English speaking, and Chinese culture. It makes me think a little bit of the film Blade Runner, which I think has one of the most vivid futuristic cities ever.

Hmmm, I was going to throw in spoilers about the movie, but I better give it more time.
