Hi Firefly fans -

I just wanted to say that I knew nothing about Firefly before seeing Serenity, save that it was a show with a lot of promise that was prematurely cancelled.

About six of us went to see Serenity last weekend, and I don't think any of us had seen Firefly.

We...loved...it. Partway through I heard my brother mutter: "This movie is freaking awesome."

High praise from a film major. :-)

We all walked out of there going: "Wow. That was a great movie. Now I REALLY want to see the show."

So the next week I bought the show for my brother as a birthday present. We just watched the first two episodes with my dad last night. Now he's hooked. That boxed set is going to go back to school with my brother and hook more fans.

Maybe the box office returns aren't that good, but I'll bet we're not the only group to go see it, then rush out and buy Firefly.

That's great to hear, Serafimo, and I'm sure there are many like you. Just... not enough from what the box office is showing. So, those who can need to see it (or at least buy tickets) as many times as they can this weekend if we want sequels.

Still, inspiring story Serafimo (and good work on the word of mouth. Once people see this stuff, they love it. Getting them to watch it first, though, is the tricky bit). Hope you stick around.
