A terrible thing to say about Jayne's thoughts...

"Don't say 'ka' until you've tried it." Daniel Jackson

ROFL!!!! Good one!

I heard the appropriate laughter and gasps, I went to a late show and everyone seemed to be newbies but they loved it. Afterwards I heard alot of the same things as ya'll are reporting. They should have Universal reps listening to this.

Yep I was there in my Blue Sun shirt and Jayne Hat. So nice to meet another fan, too bad we didn't have time to talk longer since the movie was starting in 5 mins.

Was that Blue Sun? I could not tell because:
1. It seemed they changed the logo a bit
2. I was studying Jayne too closely

I looked carefully in my last viewing, but I couldn't say for absolute certain that it was the Blue Sun logo.

It could have been some Chinese characters.

We may have to wait for the DVD to nail this one down.

BUBBLEOFEARTH

Yeah, it was definitely Blue Sun. There's another thread about things seen in the movie that were in the show, and people there noted several Blue Sun logos.

-------
ALSO. This is terrible. I cringe as I type it. There's a family I've been friends with forever, and their daughter has hit teenagerhood. She was a good kid before, and I'm sure she'll be good again, but... well... I was babbling on about Serenity today and said she and some friends had been at another movie (she did say it was awful, at least... all Jessica Alba's tucchus and a lot of bloody scenes - good for her) and when it was over, they killed time before their parents showed up by checking out the other theatres. She said, "Yeah, I walked in on that one, too, but we didn't stay because

Select to view spoiler:

all these people were dying, so we left."

I'm just pretty sure I would have gotten up and disemboweled a group of teenagers if they'd walked into and out of the theatre (talking, I'm sure) during that part of the flick. Slowly. I would have s..l..o..w..l..y.. dis em bow eled them. And then stuck around to explain to their folks why it had to be done, and how to avoid such things happening to any of their other children.

There ought to be a separate part of the movieplex where theatre-hopping is ok and not terribly distracting -- goofy ridiculous summer comedies and Jessica Alba movies could go there -- kinda' like the kiddie end of a swimming pool. Then movies that actually require attention and thought could quit getting interrupted by ... oh heck. I'll get off my soapbox. Everybody already knows about the special hell. Sorry. Preaching to the choir.

EVILBUNNIES

The last time I went, there were about 10 other people besides me. Not the crowd I wanted, but then again, it was the 4:30 show. Needless to say, there was a Browncoat a few seats down from me, who brought a friend who didn't seem too excited at first.

The most obvious laughter parts were Kaylee's "neathers" line and "hell with this. I'm gonna live!" River peaking her head through the vent at the end also earned a few chuckles. There was the obvious laugh at Wash's last "I'm a leaf on the wind", followed by the expected gasps. The Browncoat in my row, who sounded like he hadn't seen it yet, swore in chinese when it happened. That was kinda nifty.

He also blew his nose at the

funeral part.

At least I wasn't the only one crying.

I was the only one to stay for the end credits, though I did leave in the middle of the theme song, because the theater employees were standing there waiting to clean up. Stupid people, not letting me finish my theme. I did, however, hum the rest of the song as I walked out.

I'm going again tonight, so maybe there will be better stories.

Mal: Define interesting.
Wash: Oh god, oh god, we're all gonna die?

Personally id kill them very very quickly, no way would i want to miss any serenity time, people like that just arent worth it.
Some would say killing is a bit harsh, removal of vocal chords is quich, less messy, and teaches them a valuble lesson. Allowing them to grow as human beings.

funny (but true)response to Kaylee and Simon kissing at the end ... "don't fall in love - Joss will just kill one of you!"

Seiously, my fourth time seeing the BDM was in a crowd on non-Browncoats. They laughed a lot at the appropriate moments and were appropriately awed, suspenseful, and sad at others. It's good to know that "newbies" get it.

WASHBURN

I took two of my friends for my 1st time seeing the film who were non-browncoats and during the final flight scene with the Reaver/Alliance battle I was yelling out in chinese (unknowingly) "fly you bastard fly". Afterwards some fellow browncoats saw me and laughed and slapped my back.

During my 2nd viewing of the movie I went with a whole group of guys from a local LAN center who were ALL browncoats...we had 40 strong rolling in, well when we got inside the 6 girls behind the counter were singing the theme to firefly.....we had an impromptu karoake in the concession area singing that song.

The 3rd time I went I ended up near this family. The parents were definately Browncoats as they were explaining the 'verse to their kids (prolly 13 and 15) well they got to the last scene where the doors open and there stands River.
the oldest son mumbles........."damn that girl can kick ass and look good doing it" to which the dad replies "yeah, wish yer mom was more like that" I died laughing in my popcorn

My 4th time seeing the film was uneventful until about the line by Kaylee about her twitching netehrs these 4 girls behind me started giggling until one of the girls said REALLY loudly "I KNOW THE FEELING HUN!!!" Asked her out right after the film.

I am a leaf on the wind, watch how I soar.

None of my screenings (5) have had anybody yell "noo!" but at two of them there were these shocked, horrified screams, so I knew for sure then that I was seeing it with Browncoats or FF veterans who were seeing it for the first time.

SPOILER

Every show i went to (been to four) so far, with only one having more than me as a browncoat, got big big gasps of shock at Wash's death.

WASH: I am a leaf on the Wind!
GIANT SPIKE: No, you're a leaf pinned to a chair.

One funny one i got was during the fourth one i went to last Sunday. A girl in the row behind me, who i could tell was a fan, and seeing it for the first time, had very much love for our BDH - and didn't like the Operative.

Wasn't annoying, but every time he came on screen she was like "God i hate that guy!" "Oh no!" "Kill him! Kill him!"

Or maybe she just hates Chiwetel.

That reminds me of when I went to see Episode 3. Everytime Jar Jar was on the screen the kid next to me would mutter variations of "now's your chance, take him out" and "kill him now." It was really hard not to laugh.

Nothing really happened at any of the Serenity showings I've been to. The first one was the best (opening night) - everyone gasped and laughed at all the right places. And everyone was talking about it when it ended (in a good way!)

The other three times there was only around 10 people in the theatre so it was harder to hear the responses. Kaylee's lines got the most audible laughs, as did River looking through the window at Simon and Kaylee.

SNOWCAT

Okay the funniest things I heard were when I went to go see it for the second time on opening night with two friends. One of them had just finished watching all of my DVD's just a few days before the movie so he was psyched to see this. The other guy was his best buddy who just needed to get out for a while.

Let me first give you a little background of these two men. They are both over 6 ft and over 200 lbs, and both medics and each have their very own personal arsonals in their homes. The one who has seen the DVD's is on the local Police squad and a member of the local SWAT team. The other is an ex military type. The reason I'm telling you all of this is because it means so much more when these two manly men during the Mule Reaver chase scene say....."OOOOOH I"ve got goose-bumps!" LOL

Then when *SPOILER**** (I mean really if you haven't read it already by the time you've gotten this far I can't save you) Wash get's spiked....The entire audience gasps, screams, and yells NOOOOOO! My buddy the medic turns to me and says....."NO! He's gonna live right?" I gave him a strange look and said, "What do you think? Your the Medic, He has a spike thru his chest."

Then when the crew was being picked off one by one by the Reavers he says to me, "Oh my God! They're all gonna die! They can't all die.....If they kill them all, they can't make a sequel. How are they gonna make a sequel?"

Well I thought it was HI-larious because I knew that he had truly been converted to become a Browncoat. The other guy who went with us now wants to borrow the DVD's. He said he really enjoyed going to a movie that he had no idea what was gonna happen next. He said he was truly entertained.

Well that's my 2 cents worth
