Serenity began at #6, in only 172 cinemas over the past weekend.

The report at:

says that for 172 cinemas, we made AU$801,529
(assuming it doesn't auto-convert to US currency).

$801,529 Divided by 172 = $4660(rounded average) per cinema! For FOUR days!

$200,382.25 a DAY!

And that was week ONE!

For a country of roughly 20 million people, we're doing pretty bloody shiny for ourselves!

Come on guys and gals, let's kick some more arse!

Serenity (so far) has already beaten:

-Little Fish (Australia's biggest Indie film)
-Transporter 2 (big action film)
-Howl's moving castle (big anime film)
-Wedding crashers (hit comedy)
-Red Eye (thriller)
-40 year old virgin (comedy)
-Stealth (the only other sci-fi toned film)

There are a few others Serenity beat, but I'm guessing a lot of people would go "What film?".

Let's kick things up a notch this weekend, and see just how well we can make her fly.

Joss was nice enough to, on his free day, invite people to come chat, have a beer and meet him, sans security( http://www.livejournal.com/users/computer_boy/150482.html ), so why not send him a little thank you? He may make it habit for his trips here.

Hell, just for fun I'm raiding a Salvos to buy a Brown coat, just for fun(and Halloween) next time I go!
