I was just trying to help the guy avoid getting something cheap that he would end up not liking. I had a buddy who was into these "prop" swords and he would swing them around like an idiot in his living room. Some of them do seem pretty sturdy, and the one that separated at the hilt and sent the blade crashing through the television just inches from his little sister's head seemed pretty sturdy too. If you've ever held an expensive, made-for-use blade you'd immediately tell the difference.
