Hi

We don't seem to get such a quick update of figures as you chaps in the US.

According to the UK Film Distributors' website
http://www.launchingfilms.com/film_stats/index.html

The UK figure for the opening weekend of Serenity's release, that is Thur 6th/Fri 7th to Sun 9th October, is £958,816. This works out at about 1,687,420 USD.

Can't find any info on number of cinemas showing or anything.

That's not the first week, that's the first weekend - i.e. the first three days.

I believe the number of screens was said to be 355. With a 39% rise in BO numbers from Friday to Saturday.

Hi Phoebe

Where did you get the info on number of screens, I couldn't find that anywhere?

You're right about it not being the first full week... it's shown as the first week on the website, but of course it opened on Thursday (or Friday, depending on cinema).

Thanks for pointing that out, I'll amend the title of the post.
