Information on Miranda?

I am a new fan to the Firefly/Serenity fan base after watching the reruns on sci-fi channel and seeing the film and I wanted to start writing some fan fiction. One idea that came to mind, was writing a story about what happened on Miranda prior to Mal and the gang finding the recording. Does anyone know where to find, or if there is really any other information besides what was shown in the film?

dont think much of anyone besides Joss has the answer to that. I believe that Serenity was the intoduction to Miranda for ALL firefly fans. Guess just go off what ya know!
