Just got off the "anyone else disappointed?" thread and I'm on a real downer now. I want to support the film, because i enjoyed every moment of it. Who's with me?

Just gotta say...any film that can stand up to four viewings and still be interesting is just something special. I loved Serenity! It more than lived up to my expectations, and I felt no disappointment whatsoever.

I loved it. I can't wait to see it again.

I also liked the novelization and the Visual Companion.

I agree. I really enjoyed to film, the 3 times I've had the opportuninty to go. The novelization, was great because it included a lot of scenes that were not in the film, particulaly with Inara. I still need to get the Visual Companion.

Once, just once, I want things to go according to
the gorram plan!

I was staggered, and over-whelmed the first time I saw 'Serenity', but I didn't consider that to be a bad thing...I can't remember the last time I was so swept away by a film (well 'Raiders of the Lost Arc' was pretty thrilling)
I sobbed about...well, you know
but it didn't make me hate the film or Joss
I know when something works in a movie,
and that definitely put me on the edge of my seat.

I LOVE this movie,
I've seen it 5 times now and I hope to see it many more times in the theater!

Bump.

It was great. I switched to Serenity-River wallpaper. Only problem is now I think about sex all the time. And I'm already in my bunk. Down with pneumonia :( hence the overposting. The BDM ruled though. I was expecting like star trek movie, ie. continuation of things developing in the show, not major changes, but it was way better.

I loved the movie also. I've only seen it twice so far, but I'm going again this weekend. We need to keep getting the word out. I want my big damn sequel.

After five viewings, I can testify: there continue to be new things to notice. Yesterday I spent a lot of the film watching the "off" characters -- the ones not talking at the moment. There are some terrific reactions to be savored.

I can't wait for the DVD -- I want to pause it and find out what's on all of Mr. U's screens! (Did anybody else notice the dinosaur cartoon? Was that a nod to Wash?)

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Unfortunately, not even Joss can make something that everyone will love, or even enjoy. I can understand & respect that some are upset by events in the BDM, but I am at a loss for those that have seemingly gone off to the other extreme & claim to hate it & be "done with Firefly", etc.

I for one loved the BDM! It was everything Joss promised and more. I think the acting & writing was fantastic, the old chemistry was there, the humor, everything I liked about Firefly. It was an emotional rollercoaster ride & after 7 viewings I am still looking forward to seeing it again this coming weekend at least twice.

I hope Joss doesn't take it to heart that some of the fans seem disappointed or upset. He set out to make a masterpiece that would give us some closure if it didn't get a sequel and he did just that.

I've seen it 5 times, Loved it everytime. I notice new things everytime. I love Inara's smirk. I'm taking more people to see it Fri. I took a friend who had just finished pushing through the DVDs and his response at the end of the movie: "How could anybody not love that movie?"

I think I may have weirded out the staff (litter monkeys) at the cinema I saw Serenity at. Five minutes after "What was that?" and I was still sitting there, EVERYBODY else had left, and I've got this manic, rictus grin plastered to my mug.

Love, love, LOVE this film.

I thought the second viewing was even better than the first. I think I was so in awe of being able to see the BDHs on the big screen that the full force of the movie didn't hit me until the second time.

I can understand how some people wouldn't like the movie, though. After all, some people loved the show so much, there is no way that a one-off like a movie would ever live up to their expectations.

But to answer your question, yes, Serenity was great.

*Shakes Corncobb by the hand*

Well said Corncobb!!!! Hurrah for you and well done for putting up a thread which celebrates this.

Serenity is an awesome film!!!! I took my friend along who I had converted to Firefly about two years ago, and we both were just bowled over. In fact so taken were we by what we had just witnessed that we went for an impromptu big feast so that we could talk about it for the next five hours over a meal and some drink!!!

It is simply a brilliant film, and one of the best Sci-fi films ever made!!!!

Can't wait to own in on DVD and watch the commentaries and out takes.

Ha! Yeah, my litter monkeys have seen me sit through the credits crying so many times now, I worry they may try an intervention tonight.

If everyone loved it, Joss wouldn't. He'd think there was something more extreme he forgot to do.

The mainstream love predictable junk which reaffirms what they already believe, because they have no intention of ever changing those beliefs. Their narrow-minded, boring, predictable people and that's how they like it.

Joss likes to challenge his audience, make them think. Frankly, it's rampant chaos and I love it.

kudos to Joss and crew for a most excellent flick.

And kudos to Gary Tandrow, the gaffer. I don't know who this guy is, or what a gaffer is, But I gather it takes 1000 people to make a movie, and everyone must've done a bang up job for it to have come off this well. So thanks Gary, hat's off.

It's no use, the hair will still be there.
