DREAMTROVE

On google

I see the number of hits on google for firefly is over 9 million, up from about half that this past summer. For a benchmark to weed out insect references, there are 2 million and some references to ladybug, 1.9 million for cockroach and three hundred thousand for earwig.

On the other hand there are 7 million for dragonfly and 27 million for butterfly, so (seriously) some of the rise, odd though it may seem, is actually do to an increase in interest in entomology. This is a serious suggestion, not a kooky one. But even so, a lot of those numbers have to be for the show.

I have no benchmark for the following, but currently it's 1.7 million for "firefly joss" and 2.8 million for "firefly serenity"

By contrast "charmed spelling" returns 327,000, just edging out earwigs.

"stargate" is 7 million, "stargate" atlantis is 2 million.

"arrested development" is 4 million. Not all of these are for the show, because the name comes from somewhere.

"family guy" is 2 million.

"lost abrams" returns about 1.8 million

Among cancelled shows:

"buffy" is 9 million, "buffy joss" is 2 million.

"Farscape" and "Lexx return a little over 2 million each.

I guess the conclusion is that about there are about 3 million pages relating to firefly, the show, is a safe bet. compared with the most popular show which btw are still on the air, it compares as at least a competitive web presence. When compares to niche genre shows of a like nature, firefly compares favorably in web presence to shows which are still on the air.

I'm going to watch them all. That oughtta distract 'em.
