Well i just went again for the 5 time and was pleased that even though its been over a week out now and it was only the 1pm showing it was well packed and got great reactions so lets hope it keeps going and reaches the right people, also i cut and pasted this review out from a reviewer over here and thought some of you might be interested, bye and please feel free to contact me as i would love to get to know some fans from around the world,
"Serenity

Director: Joss Whedon. Cast: Nathan Fillion, Gina Torres, Alan Tudyk, Morena Baccarin, Adam Baldwin, Jewel Staite, Sean Maher, Summer Glau, Chiwetel Ejiofor.

Details: US / 119 mins / (15A) It is five hundred years in the future and humankind has been messing around in space - like that'll happen! No, really, there've been terrible wars and in their aftermath the space junk, Serenity, and its motley crew navigate the galaxies by the seat of their pants and scrounge a living in the black economy. Into this happy life of space buccaneering barge Simon (Maher) and his weird sister River (Glau), wanted by the powers that be for the secrets she has divined from the minds of others. Adapted from his TV series, Firefly, Whedon has made a clever and really well-written spin on the sci-fi yarn. No matter that he'll be accused of riding on George Lucas's coat-tails, he's a better writer than Lucas, whose own space operas borrowed heavily, and superficially, from older mythologies. The film benefits enormously from skills honed by Whedon in TV work - Roseanne, Buffy, Angel, Firely - and the characters come to the big screen already fully formed. It profits greatly from there being no 'stars' in the picture, so the characters all have an equal importance. Who knows which of them may die. Already the makings of a cult phenomenon, Serenity has Hollywood 'franchise' written all over it. Within days of its US opening it had gone to no. 118 in the IMDB all-time top 250. See it while it's fresh.

Thank you Conor... that makes me feel so good over here in the USA, in my little town's area ( I have to drive 1 hour, but it's worth it!) to see the movie, it's not doing as well, although it's holding it's own and all the fans from around here are doing their part. I was excited to read the review.... they "got it" and I'm so glad.

glad you did as i love hearing about how things are doing in other countries and if this film doesn't get another series or film from it when the likes of Deuce bigilo crap can, then there really is no hope, all the best.

Let's hope it gets sequels and a return of the series! I think SciFi should pick it up, they have Battlestar Galactica, etc. I think Firefly would fit right in.

That'd be shiny!

Thanks....

i think i would prefer the series back as it would mean more of it also i persuaded some friends to go see it last night at the late showing of 10pm and they said it was completely full which is great and i'm hoping that it will go a third week from fri which would have to be a good sign,i'll let you know if it does.I also have an address for you to try which has some clips and interviews from the london premier so if i can find it i'll post it as a new thread, check it out as it is a good interview.
Bye again,
Conor.
