Howdy,

Been trying to hook up with other browncoats in the area, and have had no real luck beyond the converts. But they're still getting their feet wet, and all other threads about this seem to end up being too far spread about or too far gone by now.

So, here's a fresh attempt at gathering us Tampa Bay Browncoats.

I personally am in Clearwater. And I'm hoping to find some others in the area that are up for shindigs or maybe just get a bunch together to hit a theater and try to keep our movie around for a bit longer in the area.

I'm open for any other ideas as well. Just send me a message, and hopefully we can build a stronger Browncoat community here in the Bay Area.

How about Lakeland, it's central to most of the state (and about ten minutes away from me).

Have to borrow a car or catch a ride until I get my new car, but if I can do that, I'm up for that location for an event.

You know, we all might want to do more of an organizational thing.

Otherwise it'll just be like raising our hands and not knowing what we're being counted for.

So, if anyone has more specific ideas, we should probably give a shot.

I'm a newb but I've seen all the Firefly episodes and Serenity twice. I live in Tampa.

Can I play?

The theater at Parkside in Pinellas Park is right on US19, and it's stadium seating.

There's a lot of us in the area....just busy with crazy real life crap a lot of the time. Just tell us what you have in mind, and if we can, we'll be there! We've talked about setting up a RPG night, but probably will have to wait until after the holidays at this point.

Who's going to Necronomicon? I will likely be there, as will some of the other 'coats in the area.

I'm always up for another viewing if possible, and yes, I think Parkside would be a good place (haven't seen it there yet!)

My wife and I are planning on going to Necro. We'll be attending Saturday the 28th.

You can't miss us, we both will be wearing t-shirts with the cover of my novel on them.

Possibly could end up at Necro, been invited over the last few times, but never seem to end up there.

As for Parkside, I'm more than up for a show there, didn't even know they opened it up again.

But as earlier stated, just let us know a more specific plan, and if I can fit it around work, I'll be there.

I think the only way this is going to happen is if we just pick an arbitrary day and whoever shows up, shows up.

Sunday, October 23rd, at Parkside in Pinellas Park at 7200 US19 North. That's this Sunday. 7:35pm show. Wear something Firefly/Serenity related and meet out front at 7:15.

Note that they're completely redoing the mall, so you have to drive through what looks like a disaster area to get to the theater.

Perhaps a shindig after.

Thoughts?

Well, my Firefly/Serenity related gear will pretty much have to be a Hawaiian shirt, but I'm game....barring Wilma of course.

Though maybe we should come up with something a bit more noticeable, since I doubt too many folks are going to be donning large brown dusters around here.

I think a shirt would do it. I have my Serenity button from the pre-screening. If you don't have anything appropos, just look for the people loitering outside in Blue Sun shirts and such.

Of course, assuming Wilma agrees. Right now, though, it looks like she's not even going to get to Havana until Monday morning, so we should be okay.

How about Sarasota? lol. (lives in that city)

But umm yea, we should all have a little gather or something. I unfortunately won't be attending any conventions right now on account of schoolwork.
