And there was me walking around in my Browncoat for most of the con too - thankfully it doesn`t quite fit in with the movie version of the costume, so I`ll be a little cooler.

It`ll be a fun time that`s for sure!

I can't wait for the Con but I have just realised I'm getting a little scared too! How very weird. I finally got my soundtrack today. Amazon are rubbish. (But only when they send me things I don't want.)

Tommorrow I have a day off and at least part of it will be spent lounging in bed watching Firefly. I forgot how much it makes me laugh. Hee hee!

Edited to add. PS - Zol, whatever happened to your UK Browncoat map?

Cool, thanks. It's always nice to know there are some Browncoats near me. Oh, and The Somnambulist actually lives in Biddenden! Probably the best cider in the world. Many a uni night not remembered thanks to Biddendens or, cider wine, as we now call it!

Are you still adding to the map? Should I bump up the old thread to enable some new movie peeps to introduce themselves?

Yrch. Been battling computer problems. One of the servers broke, the important one with the application everyone uses to do their job on it. Broke at the end of the day yesterday... won't get an engineer here till Monday.

Is this the random thread? *confused*

I need some randomness. It's friday and there's a big crisis with a wrong funeral date and my quiet friday has turned into crisis prevention day and it's very foggy out and quite cold in here, today. My hands are ice.

So, anyone invented Simon shaped chocolate liquors? Cuz I could use a few.

Yes, this is the randomness one; I checked before I started randomizing.

On Tuesday I was pulled away from a current project to make ready for a more-emergencified one that had to be demonstrated yesterday morning. All went well, but now I have to get back into the swing of the original project, which has to have something to show at a conference in the Czech Republic in about three weeks, and which is still in very preliminary design stages. The poor sod who has to present the results was understandably somewhat stressed at my absence, and haunted my office hoping for a sighting.

I do so adore being in one crisis mode after another. Randomizing here is one of my graspings at sanity. I don't have any Special Seans to offer, alas, but I've about perfected my Jewel Juice recipe. Yum!

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I keep being told that everyone who goes to these things is very friendly but I'm a con virgin and I don't know what to expect!

I am very excited though! However if you spot a brown haired 21 year old in a Kaylee T-shirt in a corner somewhere crying coz she has no one to talk to, will someone come say hi? Please!

Glad to help, I know being a con virgin is nervewracking but don't worry we will all be there for you! I am sure there will be planned meet-ups at different times on the Friday and such a big group as the Randomites is kind of hard to miss!

For my first con I did two things, steward (very boring, never did it again but I met a couple of couple people) and bribes! I took a basket full of chocolate coins (it was a St Patricks party, I went as a leprechaun - ok I wore green) and gave them out to people. It worked a treat, I made a great bunch of friends very quickly. A friend of mine gives out tequila with a water pistol (and sometimes the 'gun-belt'). Then there is Keith (who everybody knows) who carries a bag of very kinky sex-toys and asks people to play with them.

Why not try one of these yourself or come up with something else?

Sorry bout that I did seem to bring some semblance of normality in here for a little while. Perhaps I'll hop on over to the other thread. Maybe not tho.

I have just realised that on the Serenity soundtrack they have spelt Jayne's name wrong. Is that bugging anyone else or am I being an annoying nit picker?

And last but not least I finally got a full time job! Woo hoo. Not the job I want to do forever by any means, but something to be getting on with! Yay!

Bollywood is the nickname given to the Indian film industry. It's a HUGE thing over there. It has the same level of success of 'Hollywood' where the name is derived.
