The event came and it went. Repeat viewings are good, and the dvd will be shiny, but it happened.
I feel like I did the month after Jedi came out (but worse, 'cause Serenity was better).
I guess this is the closest thing I'll ever feel to post-partum depression.

Anybody else feel a little down?

oh yes. I feel your pain... oh yes.

Yep, me too. It was inevitable because of literally YEARS of buildup. I think (dare I?) Joss would tell us that the last two years of fighting and scratching were just as important as the movie itself. Be proud - be very proud.

Where to now? The future's in doubt, vast numbers of people never got to see our jewel (not to mention Our Jewel), and it's a little like the Battle of Serenity all over again. The movie punished us with disturbing losses, an agonizing hint of The Sequel That Could Be, and a glimpse of what Hollywood could be when a working brain gets introduced into the moviemaking process.

I'm still proud of the fact that we kicked "Into the Blue"'s big star, flashy, formula-heavy, bikini-clad butt!

yeah, it feels like it is 'over'...
but I'm guessing it is far from over.

Pretty soon (2 months is soon, right?)
we'll have the shiny 'Serenity' DVD
hopefully full of 'extras' goodness
(I'm sure there will be a Joss commentary, and I hear they scheduled a cast commentary...)

Then I've got my little heart set on more comic books,
because they are really sweet.

in between I hope we'll have posts at Jewel's blog
(anyone have that address? I can't find it since my last computer over-haul)
and more posts from Joss, Nathan & Adam...

There is always something new coming to us...
we just gotta have faith...or belief...whatever

I translated this famous speech to chinese and back again. Can you guess what it is?

We minority, we are happy minority, we unify brothers; For his that shed his blood and I today am my brothers; Is his ne' er very vile, this day will pat his situation; And the gentlemen now the bed will think accurs' in England; d they are not here, and causes their manhoods cheaply to wear down any says that fight with us in 圣徒 Crispin' s day

Ooooh, I knew this thread -present was from you before I opened it! You used the Bene Jesserit voice!

More discussion on more topics is what I need at this point. The cozy little room is feeling a bit weighted with the disappointment right now, and that's getting to me a leettle beet.

I'm keeping the disappointment at bay with repeated viewings with new people who immediately get the starry eyed look, while I'm rummaging around for new things to notice in the movie. That helps. Also designing t-shirts and things with FF & S paintings on them. That is keeping me very cheery.

Now it's a forever thing, like that child you just birthed. You'll be able to watch it again and again in slo-mo and come here with the looney toons to discuss the minutiae, of the silly things it said, and the way it burbed up the peaches, and soon Joss will unveil some magnificent new project.

But yes, there is definitely the post to the partum, and it's kindly blue.

And Ballad! With the random posting of one of five great inspirational speeches still smoking from the use of the double mirror translation effect. Could there be a thread?

And we must also have the 10 favorite movies by catagory!

And me with my Firefly DVD's still loaned out.

The BDM likely won't be in a local theater next week, and I won't have my DVD's to console me! I think I may be buying a second copy before all is said and done.

oooh I applaud your courage at loaning them out...(she whispers as she clutches the tiny box to her)... I have to buy other ppl copies as I cannot part with my dvds (NOT ANY OF THEM, not just FF ones) cus so many ppl just do not treat cds or dvds with the proper care and respect...so I have a basic no loan policy...

last night I began the search for the commentaries.. had not listened before.. so it is a joy to find and discover them now...though it is a WEE bit annoying that they talk over the stories...lol I keep getting distracted by the pictures and I want to hear the story....lol

ladies/gentlemen.. may I just add curse your sudden and inevitable ability to endear yourselves to me...

I know just where you're coming from Chindi....

One of the people to whom I loaned FF mistreated my first season of Buffy. I wouldn't let them borrow the other seasons. But I so strongly felt the need to infect the world with this series that I was willing to risk mutilation of my beloved DVD set just to get a few more fans.

Incidentally, of the 3 families to whom I've loaned my sets, 1 of them has bought their own copy, one has it on their "when I'm not so poor I can't eat" to-buy list, and the third is the aforementioned DVD hostage holders. Plus, all 9 of them went opening night to see Serenity with me, and all of em loved it. So my loaning-outage was not in vain.

EDIT: Hello, spelling error goodness.

Oooh good for you Haidon.. lotsa converts..
I never thought your loaning was frivolous nor in vain.. not in the least.. no, sigh, rather I admit my own selfish nature with that very post!

HA!

and I must add here how very happy I am to be here sharing my hopeless but inevitable obsession with those that get it!

so COMFY here on Serenity... I love this ship..

Chindi, having a good day.

Oddly enough I feel inspired and optimistic about Serenity's future, almost like the worst (box office reality) is over and I can breath again. And since no one died... wait a minute... wah wah wah!!! Liminal, pass me that pipe! Uncle Piz needs a mello-tive!

QUEENOFTHENORTH

Start of scene (everyone standing in cargo bay with door down.)

Inara: Let's go to Persephone.

*Mal thinks about it*
Mal: No, let's not go to Persephone. It's a silly place.

Kaylee: Oh look at the fluffy white bunny rabbit. It's so cute.

*fluffy white bunny rabbit savagely leaps at Jayne's throat and latches on*

Wash: Wow, look at that sudden but . . . evitable? betrayal. Is evitable even a word?

River: It's an angry rabbit. It hates . . . and kills . . .

Jayne: Gorrammit, don't just stand there! Somebody get this rabbit off of me!

*Zoe shoots rabbit off with deadly accuracy. It falls to ground twitching. So does Jayne*

*Simon goes to Jayne, checks the body*

Simon: He's dead.

Kaylee: Poor rabbit. What did it ever do to anybody?

Jayne: I'm not dead.

*Others load Jayne's body on to mule, ignoring continuing protests that he's dead, then drive it off the ship*

End scene.

Yes, I do. I wanted to see the trilogy but I don't think that we're going to make it. I still hope that I am wrong. There's a small part of me that can't let go of my pre-movie release optimism. I'd like to see the end of the story.

Multiple sets can be a good thing for the viral conversion. Then you're never without one. Ridiculous, huh.

Allo? Allo? Is there a random Queen in the thread?
