Is anyone else having a problem with trolls?

I haven't posted on the site in a while (and I'm sorry about that), but I've received 2 or 3 comments on ancient blogs in recent weeks, all of which are just from trolls posting links to their casino website.

Is there anything that can be done, and am I the only one getting this crap?

Just curious, if the Web-Master is listening.....

no I haven't had it happen to me, and I haven't heard anyone else complain about it...
perhaps you should post the links to the specific blogs (w/the troll responses attached) so that a mod or Haken can see them,
I think if people are using this site to advertise for casinos or whatever then they should be banned from the site.
Of course advertising Firefly/Serenity merchandise or websites is a good thing and I see no reason to complain about that.

So that's my suggestion...change the title of this this thread to 'Need Mod Help'
and post the links to the trolled blogs here.

It's not really trolls, it's just spammers - most likely, it's not even human, just computer programs that go through and look for anything that allows you to post comments, and post one with their link.

It usually doesn't even matter to them if anyone reads them, the more links they have from the more (distinct) websites, the better their ranking in search engines, and so they'll get traffic from that.

Which is why hopefully, if people can't delete them on their own, mods will do it.

This is a good idea, but the other response is right too-- it's probably just some kind of auto-program, designed to make life miserable.... though I do feel kind of singled out now, if no one else is getting these.

I'd like to suggest there be a way for blog-owners to delete certain comments? And if that doesn't work, can the Web Master do it for me?

Is anyone else listening? Is there a way to change the code for blogs to we can at least edit/remove certain comments?

I got another one today, that makes FIVE comments for the same blog.

It was just a plea to the desginer of this website to change the code; I'm not nearly smart enough for that sort of thing.

Presently, fireflyfans.net doesn't allow account-holders to delete blog-comments, I was just asking if that could be changed?

Done. Try it out. I try not to program in MS ASP these days and just stick with .NET, but I guess it's unavoidable because of FFF.NET.
