I really was awed by the hollogram chick. She was phenomenal. Really despite my love of all the main crew I would have to give her all my gold stars.

she just too gosh durn gorgeous i don't know if i am enthralled by her acting or her beauty. iif i ever get really rich and really self involved and plastic surgery gets really good i will look like Gina Torres and then i shall...well i don't want to let slip my plans for world domination. but about the acting the Hollogram girl amagawd she did alot with little (albeit great material) her character was so fleshed out just wow

The Hologram Woman did a fine job and she deserves to be singled out. But there was something about Gina in this movie (and not simply that she looked better than ever!) where I found her to be a powerful presence in every scene she's in. I was drawn to Zoe much more than usual. There were moments when, in terms of character development, I thought it just might end up being Zoe's movie.

Summer was amazing - also have to give special mention to Chiewetal.

Incidentally, "Hologram Woman" was played by Sarah Paulson of "American Gothic" fame (OK, maybe "fame" is too strong a word) - you know the one..."Someone's at the door..." Finally available on DVD, go check it out!

It's Summer's movie. She blew me away.

I thought Nathan was very strong.

I would've recast the doctor from the beginning. Never was convinced of his character.

Jewel, she delivered some of the best lines in the movie in my opinion. Summer was also great!

"Been more'n a year now and I ain't had nothing between my legs didn't operate on batteries!"

"...and don't ride in anything with a *something-something* in them, they fall right out of the sky..."

"To hell with *this*. I'm gonna *live*!"

She was very good, not the best in my opinion, but very good all the same.

Tries hard to think who PR would rate the highest.....!

Seriously though, Summer was amazing. But then she and Nathan were lucky enough to get a decent amount of screentime to shine.

Anyone notice how similar the hollogram chick and the young miss at the beginning of the movie looked like each other? I've seen the BMD several times, and keep thinking that.

I though that was just me. They looked very alike. Also in Firefly, in Ariel, the receptionist at the entrance to the hospital who gave Jayne a funny look, she was also an alliance officer in a later episode.

Yep ......................... that went well!

Nathan & Summer (but they were all fantastic... I think Sean is very good as Simon. Always been convinced of his character)

Count me in too. I thought she was the "Young Miss" at first. Confused me there for a few seconds. She did a good job though considering that during the actual shoot she was reacting to nothing. Unless Joss real Reavers to act off camera.

I thought the Hollogram chick had a Julia Roberts thing going on for her :P Anyone else see the likeness? I mean I knew it wasn't her, but I thought there was a certain likeness to her :P

Allow me to clarify my 'doctor' comment. I am talking about the alliance doctor who experimented on River, not Simon.

Sean was quite good in the movie. Better than he was in the show IMO. I thought his role was more defined than before.

Summer 4TW!...

she was great throughout
its not easy playing a psycho you know

plus she did nearly all her stunts, and she did great in the fight scenes IMO

i think nathan played his part well, he put in enough humour to keep to the strict captain role realistic but not over the top

i also think that alan was surprisingly good, he played his funny/wimpy guy role great

Sean...i didn like him at all really, but im abit homophobic...so to me he seemed sly from the get go...waste of kaylees time

Gotta say it was Nathan for me. He took Mal kept him funny, but really added a darkness at the same time. It was something I always thought I saw in the series, but it really came out in the movie. I had been hoping it would. I loved it, I was T9 texting ( www.textfast.t9.com) my friend about his performance the very next day. So good!

Actually, I thought the Alliance Doctor was very good, as was hologram woman. She really made the reality of the horror very, er, real.

And Summer was outstanding. Nathan was great as usual, but I thought Chewie (to his friends) the unpronounceable really stole every scene he was in. The guy's a star...it's all in the eyes.

I never saw American Gothic, but she did look familiar. I cheated and checked the IMDB, then realised why she looked familiar - Deadwood!

JAYNE "Pain is scary..."
