How art thou today, Sean?

Lims-thanks for the lesson. And as tempting as your offer is, my cupboards are stocked quite full of chocolates at the moment. I think I've got enough to last me through till Easter.

Ok, lets see...

Turkish Delight chocolate bars are the BEST!!

Canadian winters? Only cold to those what ain't use to 'em . I stop wearing a T-shirt when I can skate on the water...then it's winter.

But on whole, I think Buffalo, New York and Maine are every bit as cold as our Canadian winters.

Yes to everything Safe said!

Except the bit about t-shirts.

chocolate turkish delight is yummers.

And it IS every bit as cold in Maine as it is in Canada. I once went to the movies when there was a wind chill factor of -50 degrees. I was frozen solid exactly 2 seconds after I stepped out of the front door and I didn't thaw till about noon the next day.

This is why I don't live in Maine.

Safe, did you ever to an initiation?

Hmmm - what kind of underwear? LOL just kidding. We wouldn't be able to see it anyway. I guess some places in the US are just as cold as Canada, but some definitely aren't. You know, California and the like. Anyways, back to the halloween candy.

Talking about sweeties and chocolate is always a good idea, second only to eating them but just to spice it up I think we should talk about Bonfire Night and fireworks as well! I'm very, very excited coz I love fireworks and extra specially my Dad is coming to stay with me this weekend! Woo hoo!

Also toffee apples and candy floss at the firworks display! Brilliant!

------------
Remember, remember the 5th of November with gunpowder treason and plot. I see no reason why gunpowder, treason should ever be forgot!

It is where a dude named Guy Fawkes tried to blow up the Houses of Parliament. Except he got caught so he didn't do it. But we English love to remember random things so in memory of the fact that he might have blown them up we have fireworks. And we make scarecrows call them guys and burn them on the bonfire! It's all good fun!

In short: four hundred years ago some people attempted to blow up Parliament and the King of the time by putting a big bomb made of gunpowder under the Houses Of Parliament (the place with the tower of Big Ben on it). The conspiracy was foiled, however, and the traitors horribly executed, and now, for reasons best known to whoever thought it up (and all those shops that now profit from it) that day, 5th November, is celebrated with bonfires and fireworks.

Don't ask me why. These days it's just an excuse for some folks to let off fireworks for weeks beforehand. Annoying bastards.

Oh, and that other stuff Casualty said too.

To be an official member of Team Random you have to do an initiation. And as much fun as it might be to make you do calisthenics in your underwear (well, for some of us more than other) alas, that will not be your initiation.

It will be something more mentally taxing and much more random.

I just don't know what it will be yet.

Anyone got any ideas? PR, you're good at these.

Must ponder for a bit.

just to let everyone know I have Call of Duty 2 so I'll be gone for sometime, and I think the English history would be much more colourful if Guy Fawkes had one.
I remember a time at school we did a project on Guy Fawkes and the gunpowder plot, and I wanted Guy Fawkes to win...

I got F.E.A.R. the other week, played it a bit last weekend. It's fun, and freaky, and makes me jump every so often. Especially when you turn a corner to find a dark silhouette standing there that just... dissolves... the moment you see it.

Big heap WTF factor. Fun.

In other news, I may start on my fic soon. Once I've done music vid #2, anyways. One thing at a time.... just not necessarily in that order.

I think that's a lovely idea, Your Majesty. And very fitting for ReallyKaylee, methinks.

So, reallykaylee, you've heard Her Most Royal Cleverness-Collect 20 funny quotes (minumin 5 from Firefly/Serenity) and post them in 3 random threads. Tell no one in these thread what you are doing. Post the links to the threads back here so we can enjoy the randomness.

Write a Madlib. Then, start a thread intitled "Who Wants to Play Madlibs?" and get people to fill in the blanks for you. When you get all the words you need, post the filled in madlib, and then post the link here. Oh, and make it Firefly/Serenity related. And tell no one why you are doing it.

Now go spread the Random.

Quote:

the Serenity and the chocolate
- Hans Christian Anderson
ONCE upon a time there was a prince who wanted to marry a Serenity; but she would have to be a real Serenity. He ate all over the world to find one, but nowhere could he get what he wanted. There were Serenityes enough, but it was difficult to find out whether they were real ones. There was always something about them that was not as it should be. So he came home again and was sad, for he would have liked very much to have a real Serenity.

One evening a terrible storm came on; there was thunder and lightning, and the rain poured down in torrents. Suddenly a knocking was heard at the city gate, and the old king went to open it.

It was a Serenity standing out there in front of the gate. But, good gracious! what a sight the rain and the wind had made her look. The water ran down from her hair and clothes; it ran down into the toes of her shoes and out again at the heels. And yet she said that she was a real Serenity.

"Well, we'll soon find that out," thought the old queen. But she said nothing, went into the bed-room, took all the bedding off the bedstead, and laid a chocolate on the bottom; then she took twenty mattresses and laid them on the chocolate, and then twenty eider-down beds on top of the mattresses.

On this the Serenity had to lie all night. In the morning she was asked how she had slept.

"Oh, very badly!" said she. "I have scarcely closed my eyes all night. Heaven only knows what was in the bed, but I was lying on something hard, so that I am black and blue all over my body. It's horrible!"

Now they knew that she was a real Serenity because she had felt the chocolate right through the twenty mattresses and the twenty eider-down beds.

Nobody but a real Serenity could be as sensitive as that.

So the prince took her for his Princess, for now he knew that he had a real Serenity; and the chocolate was put in the museum, where it may still be seen, if no one has stolen it.

There, that is a true story.

Hope this be random enough.
