When the BDM premired, I was living in Virginia and got to go with a large group of friends. After that weekend, my husband's job scheduled us to move to Wyoming. Now, the movie didn't even open the first week here, but it did the next. Last Friday I saw that it was dropped to one matinee showing per day. I thought that next Friday it would be dropped entirely or sent to the cheap theater. It was to my great suprise that next Friday they added a prime evening slot to the schedual. I have heard that it is still doing well in the theaters back in Virginia, but I would expect that in a large population center. If this movie's "legs" can keep walking way out here, I just have to have faith that interest in this 'verse will only increase dramaticly in time. Whether it was the show being pulled to soon or the movie pulled from theaters to soon, time has always been our only real enemy. This,I believe, will be overcome once the DVDs are released. People will give a rental a chance they wouldn't with theater ticket prices. I can have patience when waiting for a sequal, because I have faith.

Just my opinion, though.

Yay! Congratulations!
I wish my theater here in Iowa would finally get it,
but it doesn't seem likely now
I had had to drive long distances,
and now I can't even do that....

Pan-demic!
The viral marketing is producing symptoms, soon it will start reopening everywhere!

Has this ever happened? Can Serenity be the first?

I would so so love it!

I am so not rubbing anyone's nose in it, please understand. I feel rotten for anyone who doesn't still have the BDmoooovie in town.

Portland, OR, brownies, where it's still showing in 5 theaters within 15 minutes of my place (and more besides).

Portland, OR, where there is a restaurant where you can play 'strip jeopardy' on Friday nights.

I love this place where I live!

Ooooh I wish! There was the nice man in Vancouver WA (just across the river, ya know) who bought a theater full of tickets on opening weekend and passed them out to anyone who wanted one. I think he may have begun the viral effect in this neighborhood...

I have treated a number of friends to the Serene experience, and some of them have since experienced the personal vortex of FFfandom (repeat viewings, DVD borrowings/purchase).

It's amazing to watch what happens when you drop one little pebble in this FF pond.

Thanks to viral marketing...SERENITY: reopening soon in a theater near you.

Ah, there's always the "pretend to be the ticket printer repairman trick" Go there and switch all of the software to print only BDM tickets!

From 0 showings to 4 new showings in Orlando this weekend. Orlanod Browncoats know what to do, take some friends to see it.
If only Universal would put out some ads.
I mean they only have a theme park here, and Ironincally Serenity is not showing at the movie theater in Unversal Studios Orlando.

I live in Wyoming too. I had to go to Salt Lake City and Ogden to see the movie... then on my vacation, went to Reno, Nevada. It wasnt showing there, so I drove to Sacramento, California.

Go Wyoming! But what's up with New England? I live in Vermont, saw the BDM twice in the local theater - broken, yes broken and spliced back together with damage and a few seconds missing, and then I drove an hour and a half to see it in a real theater, and now it's all but gone! One theater, one showtime in the outer Rim of Boston, gah!

Good thing I have the FF DVDs!

go run your little world

Now that brilliant idea would come out looking like a Marx brothers movie if I tried it. Much better left to the organically organized technophillic waterwalkers among us. Maybe while you're at it you could alter the soft at Universal so Serenity is making money from several other movies. But wait, that would be wrong!
