For whatever silly reason, I just noted the list of the last 5 people visiting the board. The first name I saw was:

It was immediately followed by:

I sense conflict.

I suspect you're right. It would seem the reason why I couldn't work out how to use that phrase is because I haven't and probably wouldn't use it!

Heh.

Here's a nifty little book no Grammar Nazi should be without:

http://www.basbleu.com/stores/1/The_Wrong_Word_Dictionary_P2130C87.cfm

Our copy's on an end table in the family room (within easy trekking distance from either of our computer desks).

No, I don't get any kickbacks from that bookseller.

Thanks, CMS. Loving to dress people in costumes, I was thinking the COZMIC FUGIT might wear a bandit mask with her diaphanous gown, but I like your idea as well.

My favorite resource for help in Sentencing! Properly! is "The Elements of Style" by Wm. Strunk and E.B. White. It is a tiny little book of transendental clarity. I have my words that refuse to stick and there are chocolate stains on those dictionary pages...i before e, except usually...double letter, or not...is it an s or a z...and then sometimes I'm just plain old sloppy. It doesn't help that I like to make up words and am fond of the mixed metaphor.

Have I mentioned lately how much I love this random place?

I also must admit I didn't pay to much attention in english class so my puncuation sucks, along with my grammar. I am also a lazy typer, so while i type fast, there are often lots of errors and I either leave them there or backspace alot.

And now, i must go back to sleep, cuz i got like 2 hours of it last nite, and had to run around and stuff this morning for PT(Physical Training).

Liminalosity... I will forgive your reverential utterances on that heretical manifesto, Strunk and White's "Elements of Style". Blasphemy to the last (although uniquely compact and to-the-point).

I was once leader of the rebel faction "proof negative" and a high priest in the church of the sub-genius. We fought the man (Webster's Collegiate Dictionary). Still they refuse to acknowledge "ain't" to be a legitimate word. They are the true grammar nazis.

It's an ongoing battle, but it seems as though the war is lost. Our strategery was bad, and we had feudal infighting amongst our ranks... The "KeepOnTruckin" commandos and the "ShuckinAndJivin" guerilla fighters are still at each other's throats, and our numbers are dwindling as a result.

We even survived the Pauly Shore insurgency and the Lex-nuke introduction of the word "metrosexual". Our numbers are dwindling, but we keep hope alive.

"Ain't" is a word. I aren't gonna argue with you about it. The grammatically incorrect is gonna rise again. Of course, that all depends on what the definition of "is" is.

For starters... gravity is a conspiracy. Newton, father of lies and treachery, got clobbered in the skull by an apple. It didn't fall. It was thrown by an operative zealot from church of the subgenius. That operative called himself Elvis, and had a medical condition that made his pelvic region spasm (not to mention he had a really bad case of "Billy Idol Lip Syndrome" ~ a well known medical condition in certain undocumented medical circles).

Second... I personally hate chocolate vodka. I love chocolate, and I am a career alcoholic when it comes to vodka ~ more a "lemondrop" kinda vodka-gobbler. When my messianic complex is totally self-realized, my first act as subgenius high priest emperor (deposed leader of the currently uninhabited planet mars) will be to (1) declare Elvis king and country (I hate his music, love metal), and (2) set up a puppet government to rule over the already pre-existing nonexistent puppet governments of people who wish they could install puppet governments over other people who are ACTUALLY installing puppet governments.

I could be president of the Island Nation of Tongo by Wednesday of next week at this rate.

XG, high priest, supreme alpha-male of the nerdherd

gooogle-manifest?!?!?! This is gargantuan!! I am dizzy with the hooting.

I couldn't stand Elvis, couldn't bear to be in the room...until the dead Elvis pan-manifestation. This I appreciate. A little Zelazny spoiler anyone? A little Douglas Adams spoiler anyone? Now I relish the appearance of the king, and honest to the supreme, I own an Elvis tshirt. So, yes, please make him king of Mars that will be.

Do take a trunkful of film, and be certain to have someone take pictures of you as the CSPB...I am picturing a Malcoat in sneaky (yet stunningly understated) hunting tartan in shades of soft brown and moss green, stalking boots, Jayne hat, River goggles, and camera case disguised as a sporin (couldn't find spelling)....and I want (respectfully, please please please) pictures of this papparazzi as well as all other random pixels and consumers of chocolate, and of course of the BDH.

No problem. There’ll be lots of film.. Although, the photography will be restricted to the first five minutes of each guest talk. I’m hoping to capture a lot of funny poses and on stage moments though. I don't mind taking photos of fellow randomites too. (And vice versa.) If it's cool with everyone?

CSPB? LOL! That’s brilliant! I hope that doesn’t become my official nickname now.. … *is worried* There won't be any tartan outfits.. It’ll be smart casual hopefully.

I hate having flu, and I'm officially stating that is what I have. Bah.

I know how you feel. There’s a little bit of flu like symptoms still floating around in my system. This weather is a right bugger.

Throw everything at it. Eat lots of stuff, suck on a tonne of lozenges, and drink lots of fluid. A bath/shower might even purge the flu out of you too. It works for me. Get lots of rest too.

Get well soon Rel!

Thanks Cos!

Yes, big food is definitely on the cards, I think.

So, CMS...

...well, nurse, it's my nose. It hurts, and it drips, and I have to keep blowing my nose and I keep sneezing and...

...uh, yeah, sore throat, thirsty, all that. I'm afraid I'm a goner. There's no hope for me.

Well, there is one hope.

Smoochies.

Lots of smoochies.

Only smoochies can save me!!

...work-departure and food time. Back soon.
