If you have a chance to see Serenity Thursday,
you might be able to keep it in your theater
for another week.

US Map of where Serenity is showing:
http://imdb.com/title/tt0379786/cinemashowtimes?location=map

Check Thursday 11/10/2005 and then check
Friday 11/11/2005.

If you were planning to go over the weekend,
Thursday might be your last chance.

If you go Thursday, maybe the theater owner
will realize there are still people who will go
see Serenity. Hmmm, if all these people showed
up on a Thursday...maybe I should keep Serenity
playing in my theater for the weekend.

Or you can buy an on-line ticket and not go.

I've had plans on catching the last showing for weeks now. (I saw a prescreening months ago, the premiere on the thirtieth, and now I'm taking a two-hundred mile trip to catch the last day's showing. ...I would have seen it more if I could, but it left my local theater after a mere two weeks!! Blasted life in the sticks....) And barring a total miracle (which, yes, I know, Browncoats are known for, but...) will ONLY be showing through Thursday the tenth. (Friday marks the beginning of the seventh week, and the standard theatrical release for any film is only six. Big blockbuster-types will sometimes hit eight, as they tend to draw in a dwindling but very real audience through those last couple weeks.)

The "let's keep Serenity in theaters" is a nice thought, but very unlikely. Sorry, pal.

You read what REAVERVICTIM wrote. It's a "total miracle". At least like a "movie miracle".

Check the US map - the US is holding
Seven weeks Woohoo!:

And still in some first run theaters--on-line
ticket buying theaters.

Some theater owners must realize that people keep coming to see Serenity. Too bad more of them
didn't realize it before they let Serenity go.

Or maybe just a lot of people showed up on Thursday. I've been going Saturday and Sunday. Weekdays--work--long commute.

Do theater owners decide to keep a movie based on the number of people who attend on weekdays--especially Thursday???

Well, my sister and I went and saw it for the 3rd (and final) time last night, and took our mom along for the ride *g* Sadly, that was the very last showing in our area, but the turnout was pretty decent for a cheapo theater on a Thursday night - there were probably about 10-15 people there. Now we'll just be saving up for the DVD release... can't wait!!!

So I hit the final showing of Serenity Thursday in Mountain View, CA (San Francisco Bay Area, for those of you not familiar), and when I got there (maybe a half hour early), there were six people in the theater. By the time it started... there were sixty!!

Yep, our baby was still flying strong right up to the end.
