So, ok. My husband is an uber Sci-fi nerd. He even has a show on cable access. So when he bought the Firefly series forever ago, I didn't give it a second thought. Right before Serenity opened up in the theater, the SciFi channel ran a marathon. My first episode was "Out-of-Gas". I can honestly say that from that point on, I was hooked. I eat, breath, and sleep Firefly. I have even started playing the lottery in hopes that I will win and then start a second season of Firefly. Hopefully I will either pick those oh so special numbers or someone else will pick up the second season.

I personally want to thank each and everyone of you b/c as one voice we may all get our Holiday wish. THANKS GUYS!!!

I also consider myself a recommender...one who recommends good restaurants, good hair dressers, and good show. Everyone I know is getting the DVD for Christmas.

Good idea playing the lotto...if every single fan spends $20 and buys 20 lottery tickets, maybe one of us will win!! Too bad getting more Firefly isn't that easy. I'm also a new fan an am glad that the other fans pushed to have the film made. PS - I still hope you win the lotto!

Im right with you, honey. My Wife and I got so into Firefly after we saw the movie, the show consumes our entire life. Just spent 35 bucks over the past two days on the soundtracks to the movie and series. Yikes! Obssessed much? Much too much.

So I'm not crazy? I was hoping to win this past Powerball 'cause I was going to buy freaking hundreds of tickets near every military base I could and donate them to the recreation centers so that soldiers/sailers/airmen/marines/coasties could all get a fix.

My next plan is to win so I can buy 500,000 copies each of Firefly and Serenity DVDs and donate them to public libraries across the land.

Glad you're aboard, Twodifsoks! I'm new here and to the Firefly universe as well!

Zoƫ: Shepard, isn't the Bible kind of specific about killing?
Book: Very specific. It is, however, somewhat fuzzy around the area of kneecaps.

welcome to the 'verse!
I did the same thing last Christmas...I was pretty obnoxious about it...

So, have you checked out the goodies mentioned in my signiture?

enjoy!

I have joined the browncoats. I think it was the best thing I have ever done. I have never felt so passionately about something. Almost scary but in a good way.

Question: Do you think that if they brought back the series, would they start from the end of the first season or the movie?

#1. I don't think they will bring back the series..
Joss has made it pretty clear (see thread entitled Joss' Uber post at Whedonesque, Haken put it in the 'news' section...right column of Home page) that he is thinking about more comics and an eventual sequel.
#2. I'd assume we'll keep moving foreward, from the movie. However in the Uber post (see above) he talked about the next 'Serenity' comic being back during the time of 'Firefly' series...so what do I know?

At any rate, the comics that already came out were designed to bridge the gap between 'Firefly' and 'Serenity'...

personally I've signed on for whatever Joss Whedon wants to do with his 'verse.

#1 - Dang it!!!

#2 - Double Dang it!!! There is just so much that happened in between Firefly and Serenity :( I want to know more about Book and his past and why he got off the boat and all the other unanswered questions. There is a lot untold about Wash and Zoe. How did she go from hating his guts to marrying him?? There is a huge history of Mal's too!! AAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!! I have never been more frustrated. Guess I will have to let my imagination do the work.

Wouldn't bother me in the least little bit to find out more about Kaylee and Simon...can't help but be a sucker for the two of them :)

that WAS covered in the first set of comics,
you're going to have to start reading the comics.

And I'm sure we will learn about Book's secrets eventually...I'm seeing flash back cuts embedded within a story (like in 'Out of Gas')
where WE will be told secrets (ie shown the past), but maybe Mal & his crew won't ever learn them....

I'm hoping for that in the eventual sequal, just as I hope that Wash will return in Zoe's dreams in said sequel....

patience is something all Browncoats have to embrace, this 'verse has NEVER been easy!

We didn't get to see the pilot until after 'Firefly' was canceled.
We had three unaired episodes that we didn't get to see until the DVDs came out.
And then they postponed the BDM from an April release date until the end of September (we did all think that THAT was going to kill us).

So relax, use your immagination, read fan fic...
but don't get TOO attached to anything in your head, because Joss will do what you least expect!

Hi Twodifsoks,

I'm fairly new to this too and I feel the obsession rapidly descending. I'm slowly going through the DVDs and have only 2 episodes left before IT'S OVER. (Well, of course, it WON'T be OVER, 'cause DVDs are GOOD..and I have 2 players, just in case...). I just love this show so much, I don't want to watch ANYTHING else and want to do nasty things to other people if THEY want to watch something else.
