I had this thought while reading the "best commentary" thread.

Who would re-buy Firefly, if FOX were to release a new set, with more supplemental material, and commentaries for each episode, involving every member of the cast (at least one ep each)?

I doubt it'd ever happen. But then again, Farscape is currently being re-released on DVD with new features and commentaries (well, new to the US editions), specificlly to the end of growing the fan base and bringing in enough money to continue the franchise. And at least one of my FF disks came back with a scratch after one of my many loanings-out.

I'd buy it if there were more commentaries, myself. I don't know how much more material there is for special features, though something could be done about the Browncoats and the effort to revivie the series. Or maybe a bit of convention coverage.

But mainly, I want an Adam commentary on Jaynestown.

"Well, my days of not taking you seriously are certainly coming to a middle."

I would! Definitely! New material...from the cast? I'd leap all over it. I'm sure there are many that would.

As a present to somebody, maybe. I only do family though, not friends

I'm known as DEATH eVADER on 5 forums, but I think DaisyCutter sounds more devastating. I'm also known as The Jackel, but thats another story altogether.

I would buy it, no question. Then i could loan out the set i have already and not worry too much about it. But the added features would be a must.

I'd buy it! I always wanted to know what Summer,Sean, Ron, Adam and Gina, thought about certain episodes since I got the DVD for my birthday a few years ago!

definitely. I think it would be really cool to have a writer/director commentary as well as an actor/actress commentary for each episode.

I think you'd be hardpressed to find anyone on this site who wouldn't fork over for a new set with more goodies.

In a gorram heartbeat! Especially with more of the episode commentary...a full set with each episode would be cool and I'm positive there's a bigger blooper reel somewhere!

I found the extended Blooper reel on the following web page: http://www.whispergraphics.net/html/body_extended_gagreel.html

it's broken down into five parts because apparently the host webpage doesn't have the space to keep it together.

Someone here has a link to the full blooper reel in their sig. I downloaded it from their site the other day, very shiny!

And yeah I would also buy a more "full" Firefly DVD set. That way I could lend my current set out to people and still be able to watch the episodes instead of not being able to watch Firefly for ABOUT THREE MONTHS! I'm sad without my crew :(

Actually, considering how popular con videos are, I'm surprised that someone doesn't just pay actors, writers, tech people, etc. of cult-friendly shows to just sit around and talk about the show or Life, the Universe, and Everything, and then release *that* as a DVD.

Like most here I'd buy it in a minute. I was so nervous when I lent out my box set and I do want more commentaries and special features.

As I write this I'm watching War Stories for the 3rd time.

I've heard the stories, all the damn stories about how people walked into a movie theater and saw 50 people who, they say, are first timers, and really enjoyed the movie. How the hell do they know what other people are thinking... 50 people especially. But look at the numbers: $24 Million, and not even $40 Million worldwide. And they say there will be a sequel, or a tv series, or whatever the hell people think is able to be produced after a movie just bombed at the box office. Look at "Saw II", "Saw II" cost $4 Million to make and has already grossed $30 Million in the US alone. Now that's what it takes to get a sequel going, a strong opening. Not some sad $10 Million in the first weekend. And they say, well compared to the per-theater gross, it did rather well, but not really, not at all. "Serenity" earned about $4160 per screen, and all that after "lots" of attention, or somewhat too little I say. And compared to the first "Saw" movie with little favor prior to the film ended up grossing over $18 Million in its first weekend alone, with $7895 per screen, at a production budget of $1,200,000 (that's right $1.2 Million). And I got my info from the-numbers.com so I ain't making this stuff up.

Not to ruin the show.... but me thinks thar be a troll spotting. Heheee... this same entery is listed in about seven different threads... (click on his name and read threads. Ohh! Ahh! Wow. Yuppers. Same thing in many places.)

Me thinks he be trying to jerk chains. I say ignore 'em.
