New Yorker Magazine's Serenity Movie Review

Joss Whedon, the creator of "Buffy, the Vampire Slayer," gives the big-screen treatment to his other, short-lived series, a rollicking Western set in outer space. The movie adaptation is necessarily exposition-heavy, as characters are reintroduced and new ones are added, but its witty, action-packed story is effortlessly entertaining. The wisecracking crew (Nathan Fillion and Gina Torres, among others) of the spaceship Serenity are rebel fighters out to wreak havoc on the devious plans of the tyrannical Alliance. The lo-fi look of the film makes it play like a schoolyard yarn, in which the evil bullies get their eventual comeuppance.

Where's the review? That article contained hardly any feedback. It just sounds like a summary of what we already heard. I want more of thier own in depth opinion

A: A superb suggestion with just two major drawbacks. One, we don't have any defensive shields. And two, we don't have any defensive shields. Technically speaking thats only one flaw, but it was such a big one I thought I mention it twice.

No it's called The New Yorker. The New Yorker is a world renouned literary publication famous for its long reports and fictional short stories. In 1946, a year after the bombings at Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the New Yorker published a 50+ page report about what has happened in those areas and Japan one year later. Also, there is a movie that is out in theaters right now called "Capote", about Truman Capote, who wrote for the New Yorker. Excerpts of his book, "In Cold Blood" first appeared in the magazine before it was published as a full novel (I don't what they call it, even though 'novel' is a name for a work of fiction, what i meant for novel was really long book).

Yeah, they usually don't give bigger reviews. They only do a select one or two per week. Serenity wasn't at the top of their list. This little tidbit was in their "Goings On About Town" section, where all the movies are give the same type of tidbit review. So yeah, it's the most we can get out of them for now. If you read the magazine or check out their website you'll see what I mean.

Doesn't make it any less an interesting and enjoyable read.
