I'm okay with whiskey, as a rule--it's Scotch I can't abide. Never have been able to cultivate a taste for the stuff.

The local brewery (micro brew called Saranac) makes a variety of seasonals, Weizen (wheat) being one of them. I liked it okay last time I tried one, but it was far from a favorite with me. Still, a beer has to be pretty awful (which label applies IMNSDHO to everything that can be bought in a can) for me not to like it. Okay, I can stomach Labatt's Blue if that's all that's available, but that's the one exception to my "no aluminum need apply" rule of beerness.

So, by any chance, was the chocolate's filling of a vodka-ish persuasion?

You requested to see photographs of the event? I've been working on an idea, although it's still kind of work in progress....

I thought it would be a great idea to write a blog. It'll mainly feature links to a gallery of photographs taken over the weekend.

(Instead of just putting them all into the Blue Sun Room.)

There's gonna be 3 different parties over the weekend too. (Fancy dress.)

Also, I was thinking of throwing in a few shots of the hotel, (inside or outside), to create an image of the place. Would you like to see those? Is that too much?

(I'm still trying to work out how much camera film to take.)

Kenshin I do not know, or Parade March. I'm thinkin' you probably know way more about anime than I do - my friend was the big fan, I was along for a ride on his enthusiasm and expertise. I know he got both of these series at half.com, cause I watched him order them.

I loved Cowboy Bebop. Loved it. The characters were richly drawn, interesting people with acres of backstory. It's kind of Fireflyish, actually; they're living on a spaceship, trying to keep body and soul together doing jobs that aren't always as honest as they'd like. The animation is absolutely gorgeous - beautifully drawn with loads of detail. Music also wonderful. Lots of jazz, other things too, always exciting, never just fill or noise.

Lain was really good too, but the story is much less straightforward. It's non-linear, jumps around a lot, and it's weird and sad. I enjoyed it a lot, but it didn't make me feel really good watching it like Bebop.

There isn't anthing else in the way of series animation that I've seen and liked as much as these two.
