I just remembered it today and I can't recall how long ago I dreamed this, but I think it was early this week.

I dreamt that we were getting a Serenity sequel!

In my dream, I was watching TV and saw a trailer for this new movie. The whole premise of the movie was basically Firefly and Serenity from Book's point of view!!

How weird is *that*??

Okay, that's weird.

But I think I can top it.

Last night I dreamed that I saw a TV ad for the DVD release of a movie that I'd made, some sort of offbeat independent comedy called Doncoat. (I kid you not!)

The ad contained about two dozen rave quotes. Yet the movie had tanked when it first came out; about six people ever saw it. I hadn't even known that the reviews existed, let alone that the movie was coming out on DVD. I'd practically forgotten I even made it.

Just for the record, in real life I've never made so much as a Super 8 or camcorder movie. What corner of my subconscious came up with "Doncoat The Movie" I have no clue.

MOHRSTOUTBEARD

Before the release of the movie, I probably had a dozen dreams about it. One involved Mal and Inara and a plucky orphan riding elephants on some savannah, and another involved the lower decks of Serenity being a vast series of caves.

My favorite one was a scene where Jayne sat down somewhere on the ship, very pensive and reflective, whilst Bob Dylan's "Joey" played in the background. The silhouette of him sitting, grave and contemplative, faded into a shot from space of a sunrise on some planet or moon, with Serenity floating into frame.

That was the only one I thought had a general premise that could work in the movie. The others were just wacky. (Like one involving Serenity being infested with space spiders - or spspiders, if you will.)

OK I can top all of you!
I had a dream set just after the episode 'Jaynestown' where Jayne and I met, got married and he stowed me away on board Serenity.
It was a very trippy, sort of dream. It was even weirder because I thought Simon was more my type.

HAZE

After seeing Serenity for the first time (when I was still in my “They changed the role of violence in Rivers character!” phase) I had a recurring dream about Summer(Not River) trying to kill me.

But I suffer from night terrors (and Insomnia, I really don’t sleep much), in all honesty it was a welcome brake for waking up convinced im choking to death!

Wow Haze, I think you beat me on the trippy-o-meter. But I empathise with the insomnia it keeps me up a good 20 hours a day

I saw Doncoat!! It made me laugh until I cried. Cinematic masterpiece right there. I tell you.

COSMICFUGITIVE

I've had a few Firefly related dreams.

The most recent one happened a couple of nights ago. I sitting at a wooden table (similar to the one in the mess hall on board Serenity). The room actually looked kinda similar to the mess hall too.

I was chatting away to Josh Hartnett and a few other people about the tv show and movie, trying to convince him to watch the show. It was pretty weird..

The next dream involved River and Mal living in a house. River is sitting in the front room in a chair. (Like the one featured on 'Frasier'.) The telephone rings. Mal walks down the stairs and answers it. It's Jubal Early. He's calling to say that he's coming after River. Mal is angry. He tells River to stay in the house. Mal leaves with Jayne, who's wearing a leash. (Like a pitbull.) That's all I can remember, although it was really bizarre.

He he!! Shiny Talent, don't you find it really weird that it's never the people you think you go for that you suddenly find yourself overwhelmingly erotically attracted to in dreams? - I often wake to find my self disgusted and turned on in equal measure ... mean subconscious, damn you!!

This is great! I'm glad I'm not the only person who dreams new episodes of Firefly! I've dreamed some total masterpieces, only to have the logic break down upon early morning reflection. Ah...so sad.

You can't take my dreams from me...

Thanks, Jacqui, that means a lot. When the DVD comes out I'll send you one!

A question about your sig line: was that comment made about the Operative in the scene at Inara's school? That's about the only thing I can think of that fits...

If so, good observation. I'd have to agree.

CAPTAINREYNOLDS

I think I have had the weirdest Firefly/Serenity related dream.

I dreamt that I was watching the news and all of a sudden came on a special bulletin that said something along the lines of "SUmmer Glau killed on way to Serenity premeire in a car accident"

I woke up the next morning and thought it was true so i began looking on the internet to confirm it, but all I found was evidence that she was alive and well.

Woohoo!!

I get a DVD!

And, yes, that was the exact scene.

The Operative kicked Inara across the room and my nephew was most outraged. He could not believe that a man would hurt a woman like that. Perfectly alright for the Operative to kick nine shades of hell out of Mal, but once he started in on Inara, that was it. He was a bad, bad man.

I was so amused by his little outburst "and I wouldn't call him a gentleman!" that I couldn't resist putting it up (he's such a sweetie, my nephew), when I made the sig I didn't wanna put too many details about it, in case of spoilers for people who hadn't seen the movie yet.

But, yes, that was the scene.

Uh-huh... just as soon as it comes out...

Very perceptive young lad there. I thought Morena did a nice job in that scene -- plucky to dive in to help, but soooo overmatched. The Operative sort of brushed her off even with most of his attention on Mal.

By the way, there's a really cool moment in that scene I haven't heard anybody mention before. Just after the first exchange with Mal (which our BDH loses decisively), the Op makes this incredibly nonchalant gesture, sort of grooming his eyebrows... as if to say, "Did I break a sweat? Nope."

Another juicy bit of filmmaking from Joss. He's more than just a snappy dialogueist!

That's a scary one. I've had dreams of that type... sometimes it can take a while to shake them off and come back to reality.
