So I was just watching the pilot ep of BSG and my DH pointed out what looks for all the world like a Firefly class ship landing outside the window in the upper lefthand corner of the screen while the camera pans down to the lady who becomes president right before the Dr. tells her that her tumor is malignint.

Has anyone else seen this? Am I really behind or am I just nuts?

Well, I've never seen Battlestar Galactica, so I wouldn't know. If I saw an image of it, it'd help.

Well this is the first time I've ever seen Galactica. It's just there for a second. I was jsut wondering if this was common knowledge or if I'd not seen it correctly or something.

Wish I had an image of it. I'm sure theres some way to post images, I know you can over in the blue sun room, but since I don't have an image and haven't the slightest idea how to do screen caps, I guess I'll just have to see if someone else has seen it.

It's pretty much common knowledge. Every month or so, someone posts about it. This is good because it brings newbies to both up to speed.
If you go watch Serenity again, in one of the 'surrounded by reaver ships' scenes, you'll see Galactica all corpsified and gross.
Zoic Studios did the special effects on both shows.

hah! very interesting...I'll have to watch Serenity more closely next time...I'm not surprised, the effects from both shows are very similar...both excellent and very realistic...

Thanks I'll look for it.

I figured they were most likely done by the same company. It's just thrifty to use ships you've already built and rendered (is that the right word here?) for other projects as background ships in other projects. Saves time, money and man hours plus it give people like me a little happy when they sopt it.
