I don't have the boots I wanted (BAH!!!!) and left it too late to be able to find appropriate replacements. And my other item has yet to arrive... it should show up this week, though, apparently, so it's looking like I'll have to go all the way back home before going to the con.

So instead of a two-ish hour drive Friday lunchtime, it'll be a four hour drive home Thursday evening and then three hours or more back down London way on Friday.

Annoying.

Ah, but think of the reward at the end of the drive!

OK, so what time are people planning to arrive on Friday? I'm aiming for 2ish unless young Matty convinces me otherwise.

Everything's in order. (Hopefully). Although, I still have to book a taxi to the hotel and back.

I've organised a portfolio of artwork to drag down with me too. (A few laminated pieces.)

Is there an official time and place for everyone in Team Random to meet up? I'll be arriving between 9am and 11am on Friday. (Night train).

Just wondering, does anyone know if it's too late to volunteer as a steward for the event?

Hey everyone! Ooh, its so close now. I'm almost set. But, im all set, in my head...I havent actually done anything yet. Which is BAD. I need to make a list tommorrow, and make sure that all the clothes that I wanna take are washed dried and ironed.

And to go through my budget once more.

I am SO excited right now.

I'm going up there on Thursday night, so whenever you will arrive on Friday, I will be there! Come see me!

Hilary - thats far too late!

I know you have a little life in you yet,
I know you have a lot of strength left.

Thanks, Carola! Love it!

Hello all!
I'm arriving on Thursday also - need sometime to adjust the jetlag and all.

I'm not ready and I think I'm getting a panic attack!! I'm leaving the day after tomorrow and I haven't changed currency nor got the boots....

One thing I have - peathant clothes! For Alan Tudyk night! (from Knight's Tale) Do you guys think that's appropriate? If not, I'll just go with a dress.

Bummer that slinky china dress doesn't fit me anymore...

But Hooooorrrrrrrrrrraaaaaaay!!! I'm getting excited! Maybe I should to firefly marathon to get myself prepared.

Can't wait to see y'all, and... *drum sound* the BDHs!!!

I'm not ready at all but I'm also not panicking just yet! I've got the envelope with the tickets in and I figure that even if thats all I remember thats OK. Forgetting tickets would be bad. Very, very bad!

I'm aiming for about 3:30-4ish, for getting there on Friday but depending on how rushed I feel it might be earlier!

Friday will be here before we know it, as long as I don't think about it too much! Yay!

How fun!!! I'm way too excited now!!

Btw, British folks, do the banks usually do the foreign currancy exchange? In Japan, where I came from, they do, but here in the States, they don't. I checked the foreign currancy exchange shops in the malls, but thier rate is outrageous like airports... So I was wondering if the banks over there have that kinda service.

Thanks

You can get your currency exchanged in a wide number of places; post offices, travel agents, banks, etc, etc. Given that we're by the airport, there will be no shortage of places willing to take your money.

Right, speaking of money... who do I owe drinks to? Matt, I definitely owe you one. Crayola, for taking me in the other night and not getting cross when I managed to circle your house for over 60 minutes. I know there's more but... remind me.

Thanks Simonwho! Post office sounds like an honest one. That'd be a good place to change, if I could find one.

I'll change small amount at the one in shopping mall here, and look for a post office/bank there. :) I'm hoping to charge on my card for most of this trip, but I assume I'll need some cash too.

I'm going to Flanvention too! The sad thing is Flanvention costs about the same as Serenity2 including all the traveling costs.... I'll be eating nothing but some rice with salt after all this. Lol

Actually you're all safe because I won't be drinking. Well, maybe a teeny little bit. I figure someone has to keep young Matty company on the coke & orange!

I'm alarmed at how heavy my suitcase already seems, bearing in mind the only thing in it is the VC, comics, some badges to give to various people and chocolate!

So, still no boots eh Rel? Never mind, everyone will be so in awe with the coat they won't be looking at your feet! My Wonderfalls t-shirt hasn't appeared either. Damn you, postal system!

RELFEXIVE

Hmm, yes, no boots. I have some ankle length riding boots instead, which look kinda military, after a fashion, so they'll have to do instead for the Browncoat 'costume'.

Plus, I found my shoes appear to have evaporated. So I'll have to wear those boots with the dinner jacket too, because I have nothing else smart and shoe-like in the footwear department.

The 'other package' that has yet to come is something else entirely... and a (not really very exciting) secret

Friday will be the day of the Team Random T-shirt. Saturday will see me as properly Browncoat-ed as I can get. I think Sunday will see me in my 'Joss Whedon Is My Master Now' T-shirt until it becomes DJ time.

Does anyone want to buy a #28 "Fighting Elves" T-shirt in small?

For photos I think I shall have to go for Sean, Sean/Jewel, Sean/Summer, Summer (cos, well, it's Summer!), Christina, Nathan/Christina, and a group one. I may feel compelled (compelled I tell you!) to get another one with Nathan too, because he's, like, Nathan, man.

"My God - you're like a trained ape. Without the training."
"Come a day there won't be room for naughty men like us to slip about at all..."
I know the secret.
