Boys, Girls, Purple Bellies, and Browncoats!

Lend me your Screen!

On this thread You are going to participate in a mock pledge.

The purpose of this pledge is to tell the world, specifically Joss and Company who you are and how much money you are actually willing to put on the table to make Firefly a series again.

You will reply to this message with your member name to this site (it's easy to do and get, just follow the basic instructions given at the login) and be sure to click the 'notify me of response button' at the bottom of the screen so I can come tell ya if we got any results worth talkin' bout, and ask you nicely to make good if it's needed.

Then write down how much you are willing to give to The Big Damn Fund.

Then Post that Post.

I will keep tabs on the list and when we get to an amount that will be sufficiant for a pilot episode for a new season, I will then get my butt into gear and start trying to find people (Whedon, cast, or crew) who will sit up and take notice or give me further instruction.

I don't want anyone to over extend themselves financially. I am looking for REAL figures here. Any little bit will help, and the more we get, the closer we get to an actual series again, but seriously don't be writing down 1 meeeeeliooon dollars if ya ain't got it. Serious Posters only please!!!

When things start to pick up and there are whispers of real action I will start a new thread to keep all y'all posted.

Now go forth, Post, and ADVERTISE!!!!! podcasts, blogs, web banners, links word of mouth, email....

Let's get this Gorram Show on the Road!

The T-shirts aren't Joss money. In any case, we're not talking about how much we'd give for old stuff, we're talking about purchasing ourselves a new season.

I knew someone would make such a comment, and that's why I didn't specify as to $$ given TO Joss so much as given to the cause.( BlueSun shirts spread the good word, if nothing else.)And that's ALSO why I didn't include the 2 years of DragonCon I attended, specifically to see our BDH, nor the $$ I spent making fliers etc.

I guess my 'tude mainly comes from the less than expected draw at the box office for Serenity, and of course, those bastards at F*X TV

I am going to go finish that term paper now and drink some bootleg absinth and contemplate how the hell I am going to find Miss. J. Straight in my mess of a town. I have a funny feeling that I may have to get on that pretty soon.

Keep it coming and keep advertising. Hell. IM me if you have any good ideas that mean me not getting arrested and still being able to get into medical school while getting in touch with Whedon, Cast, or Crew.

I thought this up after making the decision not to go to the big convention in L.A. this December because my schedule is simply too full.

If no one's done this yet, wouldnt it be grand to sponsor OUR own Big Damned Convention without the help of some big company, and invite the whole Firefly staff to honor them; if we could afford to have Joss there well, that would be a bonus.

Of course we would have to pay them, and make sure they had fancy places to stay at, and we would have to make it worth their effort, but thats a small thing....money talks in this here 'verse, and besides, who could resist being admired, given candy and a lot of money, and called the light?

I need to find out how much the actors get paid to go to conventions, and then just double the number....maybe that would make them show up.

Is this possible? Do you think they would come?

You guys do realize that Enterprise fans tried doing the same thing (only they were actually pledging real money with PayPal). Paramount's lawyers shot that idea down fast. Sorry to be pessimistic but this aint happening and besides I'd feal kind of guilty if we paid for a full season of a TV show when that money could be used to actually help people (IIRC it cost around $2 million per episode of Firefly).
