Have you guys noticed Mars out there the past few weeks - it's just enormous and bright red. Last night I caught a glimpse when I was wandering about 9:00 and it was a subjective inch and a half from the moon in a velvet black sky. Just beautiful.

That was a very scary boggled-eyed creature. What was it supposed to be?

Are they on drugs? All the time?

Other than that, loved the song. Very amusing.

I missed the fun shakespeare conversation, bleh. Can we have more fun shakespeare conversation? Oh, has anyone else seen the Complete Works of Shakespeare, Abridged? I have it on DVD and it is hi-larious!

Sorry. (Wipes conversation starter about the effects of the moon from memory bank.) Done!

Keeping it sane and always random:

I saw Melinda Clarke (Nandi) on an episode of Everwood recently. I don't know what the show's about, although, I was kinda bored and channel hopping... I got a surprise though when she appeared on screen.

Also, I was watching 'Heart of Gold' last night too. Does the actress that plays Petaline appear in 'Sin City'? (As one of the prostitutes). It's doing my head in. I'm sure it's the same actress. Does anyone know?

Have any Randomites seen guest actors on Firefly appear on other tv shows?

I feel worse today than I felt yesterday. Yesterday I was feeling better. Someone said there's a cold front coming, maybe that's why. But I feel like CRAP today. Me and my tea hookah are going to have a looooong day together.

Nope, the Sin City chick is Alexis Bledel (from Gilmore Girls, etc.). The girl in Heart of Gold is not Alexis Bledel, though she does look startlingly similar. Took me for a turn the first time I saw it, too.

I haven't seen Sin City (don't really think it's my cup o' tea) but I knew Alexis Bledel was in it, which kind of shocks me. She's so darn cute and wholesome looking and all that, and she's playing a prostitute. Just doesn't seem right. She's on Gilmore Girls, which I've been watching from the beginning.

Jewel had a part on an ep of Stargate Atlantis where you could hardly recognize her for the make up.
Summer spent a couple of weeks in an institution in the 4400.
Nandi (real name escapes) was a sultry and fabulous dominatrix on CSI. Very hot.
I don't watch that much tv, really really I don't, but when I hear my favorite folk are going to be there, I conspire with the VCR to be there.
I missed Sean a couple weeks ago, and I blew it recording Joss, which makes me grrr.

Can't forget that Melinda Clarke (Nandi) is also a regular on The OC as Julie Cooper.

A couple seasons back, I rememeber Gina Torres on 24, though this was before I watched Firefly, so I only knew her as Jasmine on Angel.

I too missed Sean's appearance on Ghost Whisperer a month or so back.

Yup. Melinda Clarke (Nandi) was really good on CSI. It was a recurring role too?

Summer was nice and crazy on 4400 as well. The protective friend that she played alongside with in that episode, (Jeffrey Coombs), was Weiounn on DS9. It didn't look like him. I had to take a second look.

Ooh! Ooh! I just remembered a really good one!

.... *Ahem* Sorry, I got a bit overexcited there.

I didn't like Jewel's prosthetic makeup. I thought she looked really weird (which I guess was the point) and then she sounded weird because she was talking through fake teeth and I could tell.

But that's just me.

The guy who played Ranse Burgess in Heart Of Gold was the marshal in Lost.

Gina was in 24, Angel and Alias.

Doug Savant, who was Harken in Bushwacked, also appeared in 24 as well as in Desperate Housewives.

Oddly, Richard Burgi, who played the nasty marshal in The Message, also appeared in both 24 and Desperate Housewives.

The old guy who can't abide useless people in Shindig also played the Lone Ranger Oldster in Bubba Ho-Tep.

Edward Atterton, the oh so charming Atherton Wing, has been in Charmed and played the doomed fiance, Danny, in Alias.

Hmmm... 24 and Alias seem to be popular choices, don't they?

Yes, Sean on Ghost Whisperer was what I meant. The guy with the thing on the thing at that one party.

Melinda Clark was slightly recurring, The Grissom character went back to see her one other time that I can remember for certain, and she (what did Rel write?) smoldered at him over tea some more. Wooo! she was hot and sultry.

Michael's wife on Lost I recognized immediately as River's condescending teacher, but I forgot to write it this AM as I was typing with one hand while dressing and making coffee. It's so weird that you guys are a whole cycle (Sleep, work, play) ahead of where I live, and N0S is at least a half cycle behind me. I'm always here after the rest of you are in sleepyland, calling down the empty thread. If I catch the BBC news at 6AM (Which is on at 11PM here) I wave to y'all with your bedhead and coffee mugs.

I love seeing these actors in other things, they all have so much talent, I want them to be very successful, I cheer every time I see them.

CMS Jewel was so un-cutified in that Stargate role, and the teeth were unfortunate. I thought she did a good job with it, but I wanted to see her cute face 'cause I was anticipating the movie hourly just then, so I was thinking dang it!

REL is the THOR of detail in this discussion of who's done what, you rock mister!

No no bad scary koalas! Ok, they -couldn't- have been koalas, not just because that would give me nightmares too, but koalas move much too slowly to play such a mean guitar.

She was on Charmed? Oh yeah! Whoah.. I nearly forgot about that... Didn't she play a seductress or something? I remember her appearance on Xena though. It was a great character.

*Shakes himself out of a daze*

Huh?! *Is confused* Where am I?

Seriously though, I've got some crazy photos of Melinda Clarke @ the last Xena con in 2002. Hudson (Callisto) Leick and Melinda borrowed a couple of fancy dress outfits from the fans. They paraded around on stage, and at one point pretended to be Elmer Fudd and Bugs bunny.

The techies had a lot of fun putting witty messages up on the big screen. 'Pray for autumn' was one of them. (Melinda was wearing a tree pixie outfit.)

Ahem...

Hi all! We're going to miss all you UKers this weekend. HAVE MUCHO FUN!

Cos-The only question I have is for Jewel and Adam. I wonder what they think of all the Jaylee fanfic that seems to be overtaking fff.net. I just wonder what they personally think of it and what they'd think Kaylee and Jayne would think of it.

I think it's crazy, but that's just my opinion. There seems to be quite alot of Jaylee shippers running around.

I read all the other threads, but now I don't remember what any of them were, so I'll just wave and go on my merry.

Oh wait-Safe-my lupine comment was intentional. Glad you picked up on that. Now I feel all smart.

I always remember that scene in Buffy where Oz talks about how he's a werewolf for 3 days out of the month and sweet Willow says "Well, I'm not too much fun to be around for three days a month." It was cute.

Hey CMS, I've got a bone to pick with you - how come you never sent me that photo of you and Adam Baldwin where you're wearing "my" shirt?! Was so excited when I found that over at the TR site!

I'm good at recogising the names and faces of minor actors, it seems. So I always spot them in other things!

On Charmed, she was a Siren, a witch who was rejected by her lover and turned evil, and who could then seduce men with her singing, and make their passion literally burn them up from within.

...

Or something.

Not seen her on Xena. Looks like I missed another chance to see her doing her trademark smouldering, eh? She's really good at it... mmmm...

What?

Wow - didn't know she was on Charmed and Xena too. Kinda lost track of those shows. Hehe. Every time I think of Xena I think of Lucy Lawless guest-starring on the Simpsons.

"Wait, Xena can't fly."

"I told you, I'm not Xena, I'm Lucy Lawless."

"Ohhh."

Hehe. Good old Simpsons logic. Wish I could go to the convention. Ask Adam about his new vampire movie!

I give to you the Seeker of Serenity, the Valkyrie Warrior, the Gourmet Cook and the Truth Scoper.

Bored. Tired. Sick. Miserable. Kinda hungry.

Since I'm accomplishing NOTHING at work here today, I think I'll go heat up some leftover chinese from lunch and have a snack.
