I believe it was Sarge who told us about this last night. These are posts from AB on the "other" board.
Quote:

8721.5 in reply to 8721.1

I have it on good authority that this message board is safe for the time being, and that there are no plans to shut it down. :-)
The fact that there has been so little network bashing, and cross-board flaming, not only helps us continue flying under the radar. But also speaks to the character and intelligence of the Browncoats who call this place home. :-)

Worst case scenario:
The board would become a "Read Only" site. So the hundreds of thousands of posts, and thousands of threads would be archived for posterity. :-)

So, in the meantime, I invite you to "Post Away!"

We Rock!
A.B.
(would most likely move to FFFans.net to post)

Then some one asked him why our board:
Quote:

>>> "But why there?" <<<
I'd feel like an intruder on the main page... At FFFans.net I'd feel more at home. You know what I mean. ;-)

A.B.

So Adam says he would feel more at home here, that's good to know. He must at least lurk here sometimes. Do you think he might even post under another name here?

One other question I have is how would everyone here feel if all of a sudden everyone over there suddenly showed up here?

All of us browncoats here at Fireflyfans.net love ya AB. Say hi sometime if you get a chance.

Wouldn't it be funny if it turned out that Jayne'sGirlfriend was AB, or someone with a similar sn? For all you know, I could be Adam Baldwin. You know, if I wasn't the wrong height, weight, eye color, and gender.

Home on the board, hell!

If he needs a place to crash, I got a couch. Would recommend he brings his own chow, though. Ain't much for cookin'.

(Above poster is not AB either, but would greatly appreciate the opportunity to discourse with him.)

Don't tell my mother I'm a truckdriver. She thinks I play the piano in a whorehouse.

The thought of that happening leaves me with mixed emotions. It would be great for this site to be popular with all Firefly fans, but I think it would lose some of the close communtiy feel that we have right now.

I found the Fox board first in my quest for Firefly. I posted there a couple of times, but it was so hard to keep up with all the posts. There are so many and I didn't like how the board was set up either. Not as advanced as it could be.

When I found FFF.net it was like a breath of fresh air. It is well set up with a decent size group of regular posters. Lots of features and all those extras the Haken provides us with is just exemplory. I love it here and have made some good friends during my short time here.

As i said, popularity is good, but I worry about overpopulation as a result of it. Make sence or should I just shut up now?

And for the record...I am not AB either...but Adam, if you so lurk here....I want to say thank you....for keeping everyone up to date at the Fox board, for keeping us all flying, and for just being you.

Oh and please, please come say hi to us Adam. On the most part we're very nice people and not at all obsessed or anything. Nope, no scary shrines to your extreme hotness around here. Nuh uh.

so long as they don't come here to bash us, I'm all for new fans stopping by. I mean how cool would it be if the number of visitors on this site went to 1.5 million within the next three months? would gorram fox sit up and take notice then? would we at long last receive a letter of profuse apology for cutting Firefly off at the knees? well, okay, maybe not that second part, but a girl can dream, right?

TUPPENCE

[Intro]
Jayne. The man they call Jayne...
[Chorus]
He robbed from the rich/
And he gave to the poor.
Stood up to the man/
And gave him what for.
Our love for him now/
Ain't hard to explain.
The hero of Canton/
The man they call Jayne.

[First Verse]
Our Jayne saw the mudders' backs breakin'.
He saw the mudders'lament.
And he saw the Magistrate takin'/
Every dollar and leavin' five cents.
So he said "You can't do that to my people."
He said "You can't crush them under your heel."
So Jayne strapped on his hat/
And in 5 seconds flat/
Stole everythin' Boss Higgins had to steal.

[Chorus repeats]

[Second Verse]
Now here is what separates heroes/
From common folk like you and I/
The man they call Jayne/
He turned round his plane/
And let that money hit sky.
He dropped it onto our houses.
He dropped it into our yards.
The man they called Jayne/
He stole away our pain/
And headed out for the stars.

Here we go!

[Chorus Repeats]

(AB supplied the lyrics that were impossible to pick out behind the dialogue)

Although I'm not AB either, I understand why he would like this group. It is edgy and generous which seems to describe him, too. He tends to post a lot to the political threads on the main board which can get very heated.

That board can get very busy so I stick to a few favorites and then what's recommended by friends over there. In case you've never visited and just want to lurk you can sign on as a "guest" at
http://forums.prospero.com/foxfirefly/.

Anyway, if you go, and are located in N. Florida, S. Georgia or E. Alabama, check out the Florida Shindig thread. We're planning a shindig in Alligator Point next weekend.

I am not AB, would hope he could spell better.

We need to set this up like an old "To Tell the Truth" ep. Where is Soupy Sales when you need him?

I have no problem with AB coming to rest here, but he may have to answer a few non Firefly plot points questions.

Like:

Where were the giant salamanders suppose to go when the riff was closed the navy?

Next AB movie on the que is Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde.

Morbid and creep-ifying I got no problem with.

Much as I love and respect the Man they call Jayne, Adam Baldwin, I must warn you off this movie. It is the worst thing I have ever seen, and I say this without hyperbole and as a guy with years of video store clerking experience. I saw it for free and I wanted my time back. It's not so-bad-it's-good; it's so bad it hurts.

"Batman and Robin" bad.

The American "Godzilla" bad.

No offense meant to AB, and remember he's already been paid.

It isn't about Dr. Jeckyl, it isn't about Mr. Hyde. It's about hurting. Deep hurting.

That would be the whole point. I have a MAJOR weakness for B movies.

Movies can be bad and very amusing. Admittedly your two examples only qualify as bad and not at all in the realm of amusing.

Last AB movie I saw was Gargantua, I LOVED it, low rent CGI, non-creditable plot (hence the salamander question) and cutesy mutant baby salamander included. Will own it, because it just made me smile.

Will admit Dr Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde looks….well just .....it's not Gargantua let's say. Will still give it a try.

Gacy is on the que as well...

Least anyone thinks I am being rude to our possible lurker. Be assured that this is meant as gentle ribbing only. I really am going to own Gargantua. I mean a family of mutant giant salamanders c'mon .........that's a party.

Slightly paraphrasing from a line in Bruce Campbell's "If Chins could Kill."

Email he got from a fan that essentially said "You are great actor and make any movie you're in ten times better, which is sad because most of the movies you're in seem to suck."

Sometimes folks don't get material that's worthy of 'em. Sounds like the case here. (Having never seen any of the movies in question.)

wohoo!! Great idea...
in the interest of fairness, though, let's just limit the Jayne-isms to one or two.... so that we all don't post all the great Jayne-isms we know... makes us think harder for the cream of the crop.

Now, without futher adeu... hare are my two candidates, both paraphrased (cuz I'm too lazy to look them up) from "Out of Gas":

1. See Vera? You get yourselfed dressed up, and you get taken places.

2. Sometimes I don't think you take me seriously...

Hsst, Gambit, those lines are not from Out of Gas, they're from Our Mrs. Reynolds. Trust me, Out of Gas is my very favorite episode -- all about Mal.

2 lines that might be good for AB's biography title:

Ain't Cuddly Like Me from Train Job
They Threw a Riot on My Account from Jaynestown.

Only 'cause I was Gonna Get Me a' Ear, Too was taken and Box-Dropping Man-Ape Gone Wrong Thing just isn't flattering.
