Heya everyone! I'm new here and only started watching Firefly a little while ago when it came on in the UK. Thought you might like to know the order the episodes have been run in...it seems to make sense so far, but you can see how it's differed from America becasue the intro sequence changes from Book's narration to mal's narration and back to Book's again!

Anyhoo, here it is, we've only had seven episodes too far (gutting) but the show is so wicked.

1) Serenity Part 1
2) Serenity Part 2
3) The Train Job
4) Bushwacked
5) Shindig (mighty fine episode)
6) Safe
7) Our Mrs Reynolds (cried laughing)
8) Jaynestown

Those are the only ones I know of so far. But it seems like a pretty good order to watch them in.

Oh and when the film is released, you have to go EVERY time you can afford it, and drag everyone you know along to see it with you. I'm hanging on to the hope that it'll get taken up as a series again...fingers crossed! That'd be shiny!

Glad you're liking it. It's funny to think that it's been gone longer than it ran and yet there's still so much interest in it. Fox does NOT know what the frell they're doing!

BTW, I cherish the EXACT same hope!

LOL yeah they need to get the series back....I need my Firefly fix! And I have to wait a whole week for every new episode! It's shocking...I;m in withdrawal. I've got Firefly cravings. I'm going to go to the Sci-Fi Channel people and offer to give them my house if they put all the episodes on in one go.

I have been thinking of the order of the final 4 episodes for some time. I am insane deal with it.

I know that Joss and Tim have alledgely set the order down, however, I find it problematic. It does not flow well and bugs me. See above.

BTW spoiler alert... You've been warned.

I have come to the realization that the problem is Heart of Gold. There is a natural flow from OiS, Trash, and Message, concerning the Jayne-River-Simon storyline. These peices fit together. But Heart of Gold does not quite fit, either before or after Trash.

At the beginning of Trash, Inara complains to Mal that she cannot get any clients. If she is leaving, why does that matter? What the heck is she still doing here, to complain, if she expects to be gone?

As a result of Trash, Inara becomes one of the crew. Not just an associate and separate business woman, but actually an integral part of its operations. Although in Message, her offer to contact buyers is rebuffed by Mal, this is because of concern for her 'cover' as it were. She is respected, and would lose that respect of society if she got caught trafficing in stolen goods. Still, there relationship is friendly, she is part of the crew.

Because of the nature of Heart of Gold, it really does not tie into the overall story arc, despite the ending. That is the trouble with putting it anywhere else. It can be dropped almost any where in the series. Why does it have to go in the last four?

My solution is to put Heart of Gold after Shindig. I have not reviewed Shindig to see if it fits, but it occurred to me that if Inara threatened to leave, and then Mal fought for her "honor" she would find it harder to carry out her declaration. And thus preserve the rest of the arc.

What do you think. Is there a problem with this? (I mean besides the complaints from Joss and Tim.)

"My kind of stupid"

I haven't seen HOG yet but safe follows shindig because of a ship full of cows. The joss and co. order had the last four as

Trash
The message
HOG
OIS

( I think )

with some minor alteration to OIS
