Michaelangelo is ready for your questions. He'll answer anything. No guarantees his answers will be right or in any way polite or proper, though. So you're taking your lives in your hands asking him anything, to be honest.

On your own heads be it.

Aaaargh, so very tired. But... must... make... mark... on... this... new... thread.

There. Phew.

Also just tried to initiate some new peeps to Firefly. Even with a light-hearted episode like Shindig, i found it hard to win new people over to the show when we're all absolutely plastered on beer and/or red wine. *Note for future reference*

Oh well, at least my flatmate was half-conscious to appreciate it. She watched the pilot today, and so am expecting her to be converted within a day or two. Muahhahhahaha.

Also got to display the ultimate bragging rights to the only other Whedonite in the room by displaying my photos from the con - especially the one with 'the ladies' in tow.

I can fall asleep a happy man.
G'night everyone. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

I have a question for Michelangelo:

Why can't I sleep?

I'm so very tired.

What movie did you see RK? I'm probably going to go see Pride & Prejudice tomorrow. I mean, later on today. If I ever get any sleep, that is.

Hey everybody! I hope all post TGers are recovering well from the tryptophan OD, and a very merry unbirthday to everyone else!

The host of the party I went to yesterday is a pie fanatic. There were 6 guests and 12 pies. Uuh. We had one while we were chopping vegetables and peeling potatos. Piglets.

PUNK: *hugs very gently* I enjoyed your blogishness, saw Chloe's pic, thanks for that. I'll be over to email her asap.

COZ: Random Toons! What a wonderful idea: be your own superheros!

CMS: Been reading the hidey hole thread, and I wonder - have you seen the Brit TV version of "Persuasion" (also my favorite Jane Austen) with Amanda Root and Ciaran Hinds? Beau-tee!

BUTT: thanx for the vid, it was a treat to see Randoms in action, and Summer, what a doll.

N0S: Glad it was 3 plates full of decent food, not cafeteria turkey (bletch)! I'm working on links for the AMV. Will let you know.

And everybody!! REL (the magnificent, collaborator par excellence) put a painting thing I did on the shadow depository (after graciously adding gorgeous text and hieroglyphics - I'm a luddite) so go look! I am so excited - my first bit of something on the web! Yippee!

lim- you are my hero. i honestly believe that you are the only other person in the world besides my mother who can spell the sleepy tryp stuff. *hands bouqet of roses*

i actually had just seen p&p. i'm pretty die hard about my austen (and my adaptations) so it was a miracle i was able to go and sit through it. if you can get past the severe lack of talent in keira knightly (austen is rolling in her grave) and that they make the folk REALLY poor and give collins a sex joke it's great.

did you see Persuasion? the sony classics version? because this is a movie i would compare to it. in the sense that the director went for a gritty side.

also- my fear was that with this adaptation of my favorite book they would be so pressed for time that they would just have a bunch of talking heads the whole movie. but they had an EXCELLENT screenplay. it was truly superb. like bbc quality . . . 'cept shorter and y'all know how hard it is for me to compare anything to my beloved bbc .. . *sigh* so much writing so early in the morning.

Thanks for the roses. When I can't remember how to spell, I google. I heard excerpts from the Ntnl. spelling bee on the radio this summer. I laughed so hard. Those kids can spell!

I was wrong. The Persuasion I like must be the Sony Classics version, because my 15# movie book only lists 2, and the other version (from 1971, didn't like it at all) says it's BBC. Gritty, yes. Gorgeous soundtrack that was mostly Chopin? I thought that adaptation was breathtaking.

I'm glad to hear you say that about P&P. I was seriously considering not seeing it after catching the preview. The sex joke was in the preview, and I thought oh no, that's not working for me. The last thing I want to see is Austen post-modernified. Shakespeare: bring it on, Austen: no sex jokes, no modern hairdos thanks.

So which are your favorite Shakespeare movies, Ms 'more words than God'? There are a whole pile of good ones out there, and as I recall you requested a discussion of the Bill last week. Or, this could be a thread, there would be interest.

You'll probably find it in the Services somewhere.

ReallyKaylee...glad to hear your thoughts on p&p. I am also a big Austen fan, but so far the previews haven't looked that great.

Persuasion is one of my favorite films (after Serenity of course), but I still love the A&E version of p&p which took 5 hours - I haven't been sure how they'd do it in 2! I'll probably still check it out.

I am curious if you read the Jane Austin Book Club? One of the issues brought up if that very often science fiction fans also love Jane Austen's work (true for me - loved SF first - then found Jane)- but that is not generally true of the reverse. People who are Jane Austen fans first, do not generally become SF fans. Wonder why that is? Maybe Michaelangelo can answer this for us!

Good Morning and Afternoon , to those on either side of the pond.

I'm so upset, i was looking forward to listening to the first Harry Potter book at work. but the audiofiles got messed up , so i miss some off of the beginning and end of each chapter....

I guess thats what i get for being to lazy to read the books at home.
