Just thought I say my hellos as well...

Hey everyone!

I too have just recently become a follower of the Firefly/Serenity masterpiece as a result of the film, but not from actually seeing it; my brother went to see it shortly after it came out over here in England and he loved it so much that he went straight out the next day to buy Firefly: The Series. He made me sit down and watch the pilot and, guess what, I loved it! Over the next few nights I watched the rest of the episodes and just got more and more hooked.

I've now seen the film twice and it just doesn't get old! - if it's on at a cinema near me next weekend then I'll definately make it three viewings.

The reason I told you all what order I watched the series and film in is that I think I was quite lucky to have got hooked as an indirect result of the movie coming out but actually getting to watch the series first. It added an element of uncertainty that my brother did not have as to the safety and future of the characters that, I think, enriched my experience of the series.

I wish I had found out about Firefly before Serenity2, I would have loved to have gone to that and met others who share my passion for Joss Whedon's brilliant creation and, of course, ogle in a stupefied wonder at my new BDHs

~ Matt

PS. I stupidly lent Firefly to my cousin and it's been a week and a half and he still hasn't finished watching it, so I've only seen it once and I so badly want to watch it all again!

SERENYTY

Hey!!!

I'm sort of, kind of a newbie. Yeah. I became a fan... over the summer (a couple of months before the BDM). So I haven't been on as much as most people. But I love it!

And newbies rock, man. That means that we're converting people, which rocks!

I wish I could have gone to Serenity2 as well. *sigh*. Curse the fact I'm still in High School! I've decided when I get out of college, I'm going to become the total nerd. Yup.

MELMOTH

Heya everyone!

I just came back from the cinema to watch Serenity. In other words, I just had the honor to watch a veritable masterpiece.

First it seemed that something conspired against me seeing the movie. In Germany it started on Thursday, and I went with a friend to the cinema. But the projectionist botched it and actually prepared the roles wrong.

The next try was yesterday, but because of a big power outage they closed earlier.
But today nothing stopped me.
I read quite a lot about Firefly and Serenity, but today ... woah. The movie has beaten comparable movies hands down!
Although there are some questions left, for example the reason why the Alliance conditioned people like River Tam in the first place. As a weapon against the Reavers or something?
Is it explained in the serial?

Come to speak of it, I need to get 50 € as soon as possible! I need the DVD's!

Cya!

You are the first person I've heard this from. Everyone else goes round shouting about pornographic acts. Why didn't you like it so much?

Man! How useful would that be? That would prevent so much confusion and misunderstanding...
