Yeah, it would truly suck if I were having to wait sans internet. As it is, it'll be going down temporarily but only long enough for him to replace the cable modem with a new one that also has digital telephone. Plus we get a shiny new DVR with a 40-hour memory bank. The major bonus is when the smoke clears we'll be spending about US$40 less a month for better services than we're currently enjoying, and four bills condensed into just one. That's the kind of deal that gets me to pick up the phone and place an order.

1.5 hours gone, 2.5 to go.

It's funny how often people misspell it, even when it's written right infront of them when replying to a post, for example.

I had wondered what the problem was, but I recently realised it's due entirely to the origin of the name. It came from a misspelling of 'reflexive' and I think that when people look at it they still see 'reflexive' instead of 'relfexive' even when there is a space in there or letters are capitalised (as in 'Rel Fexive' or 'RelFexive').

The following paragraph explains it best...

Good paragraph. I just saw something similar earlier today: a list of words that were colors, and each one was written in a different color than the word spelled out. You're supposed to read them aloud at a normal speaking speed, and notice at how your left/right brains go to war over which color you actually end up saying.

sweet.

We can't get that kind of stuff where I live.

Until late last year we could't get cable or DSL, either. But nearly as soon as we could, I snatched it up. Before that we had dial up at home. So inconvenient.

Rel-I think when I first met you, I called you Reflexive on accident. Don't know if you noticed or were just too kind to say anything. I eventually figured it out.

Tis raining.

'Tis wicked windy out right now. I just went outside to right the Mums planters that were bowled over.

Still no cable guy, but our old phone service is already disconnected; someone was wasting no time kicking us loose!

I don't usually bother correcting anyone, because I always know who they mean

The weather here is cold, but it's been kinda sunny. No recurrance of the snow yesterday where I am.

Today is expected to break a 49-year temp record, and set a new one by something like eight degrees Farenheit. I imagine this one will stand even longer.

I'm annoyed. When Time Warner says between 8 and noon, they mean just to show up. They believe they can show at 11:59 and be considered on time, no matter how long the actual service takes. Hel-frigging-LO, people have jobs here! They told me 8-noon, I told my boss I'd be on the way at noon. What the frack else would anyone infer from being told that time block?

Frelling idiots.

Not to mention when I called them on my mobile to tell them that, they were surprised that my existing phone line had already been cut off. Hey, they made the stinking arrangements, and they're surprised? Have they ever done this before, or am I their very first customer or something?

Idioting frells.

See, that's why when they tell me 8-noon, I always expect them to arrive at 11:59am and arrange my day around that. It's ridiculous, but it works. And then if they arrive at 10:30, I have all that extra time I wasn't expecting.

Still, they are idioting frells and you have every reason to be annoyed. Especially since you have no phone service.

And I like the warm weather. I'm not complaining. It was nearly 60 when I left the house this morning.

But it's bad for the praying mantis.

Cold here too. Good for the lighting of crackly fires though, which is nice.

Random 'nitiations are fun, as long as it doesn't help people feel...rejected or judged (because who needs help with that!) The negative should mostly go lay down by it's dish in the rooms of the RW, I think. Maybe if the silliness were just posted here in the landarandom instead of out on other parts of the board? Most initiations have been 'write something on a theme of' anyway, which lets you see someone's sense of humor and the way their mind twirls, which I think a -very- good thing when it's happily done.
So I vote, 'nitiatons non tropo. If we're counting hands. Or three-headednesses.

Some good interviews, email, and quotes from threads in podland lately, cheers to all who gave so we could giggle!

I'm okay with just Spinny. I'm also slightly less annoyed now that things have gone their sudden but inevitable course. We again have phone service, though not upstairs. Some short in the line wasn't bad enough to be a problem until things went digital, then blooey. Only my son used a phone up there, and he's on the line too much as it is, so that's become a low-priority problem.

Now there are woes with United Parcel Service. People wish to take one's money but, when it comes time actually to perform services for that cash, not so much. I've run out of annoyance juice, all I can do now is shake my head and smirk.

My cats are finally coming out of hiding; they didn't like strange man in their demesnes.

Actually, I think you already own the cool name, Serenity. *Hmm, envy is naughty*
Actually, though it's not a result of the con thing, it's been happening since my first random: yours always turns into SweetS in my head for your attitude, the way I've seen you sweetly spank some nasty ones, and for the chocolate, mmm, the chocolate. SweetS

spunk is umfortunate. I liked that one a lot, tried it in my head weeks ago for just long enough to remember the bukkake connection, then I threw it across the room. You called your place Chez Crayola once too, so that's always in there as well, cuz I love it.

Also, PR turned instantly into RiversTwin
