I apologize if this has already been brought up, but I couldn't find a search function...
Anyhow, membership is open to the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror right now if anyone is interested.
I just know of a certain BDM that will probably be nominated this year and if you wanted to.. oh I don't know... vote for it, you can. :D

I've been a member for three years now. It isn't the Oscars, but then screw the Oscars. Those people have such boring acceptence speaches anyhow. But I had the pleasure of checking of the box for the Firefly DVDs to win, (which they did) so I thought I would pass it along.

STFLETCH

Does anyone know if and how non-US (i'm in the UK) people can join. I asked this on the SerenityMovie boards but noone seemed to know. I even e-mailed the Saturn people but got no reply. I don't particularly want to just send off a check if they don't accept foreign aplications.

I emailed them too and didn't get a response, so finally I just asked on the Farscape board if anyone overseas was also a memeber and got an affirative. (That particular Scaper is also in the UK. I think it was her that got me to join!) It is the same rate as Out-of-Staters, which is 40 dollars. (What I pay, being from NY.)My conversion skills suck, so I don't know what that would be for you.

I saw your question on the other thread at Serenitymovie.com. Sorry I didn't get back to it sooner.

Looks like. And wow. But I just did that math and with that 100,000 they get 72 memebership cards which the card holders can use to get into (about) 120 screenings per year. So... unless I did it wrong (which is possible. Math, not my friend) and I am putting ticket prices in at 10 dollars, that is about 864,000. Even if they go less then half the time it's a deal.
But I bet no one has taken them up on that offer! LOL!
Unfortunately, for Out of Staters like me, you don't get to go to free screenings. :(
