I just wanted to thank the fans for keeping up the fight long before I discovered Firefly and Serenity. Your labor was not in vain. If you guys hadn't written letters and purchased DVDs I'd never have been able to see a movie and discover the whole Firefly/Serenity 'verse.

I saw the movie based on what I thought was a great trailer, and on what I read about the fan base. I loved the movie and was curious about the series, because I'd unfairly given it only about 2 minutes when it was on back in 2002. A coworker also saw the movie and immediately purchased the Firefly boxed set, which I promptly borrowed. Since then I've purchased the Firefly DVD set, both soundtrack CDs, the movie companion book, and I've preordered the Serenity DVD. I saw the movie 3 times, once about 100 miles from my home and last week about 70 miles from my home. If Joss made a straight-to-DVD movie or series I'd be first in line to buy that!

Welcome, Misbehavin!

I'm fairly new too, and I so appreciate the Browncoats for all they have done to keep the 'verse alive.

I've never loved a show or a movie like I love this one...

I'm thrilled I made your day, flywithmecaptn!
I always get real excited when I hear from someone too. I love this place, it's my home away from home. We are so lucky to have it and have Firefly.

And hey, not to sound mean, but don't loan your DVD's, if there's any way possible, buy another set and loan those. You'll miss Firefly too much, I guarantee it!!!

I've been a Browncoat since my daughter dragged me to the BDM in September and quickly discovered the series and quickly bought and devoured the DVDs of the series.

Just bought another DVD set to lend out. It should be here Monday. I lent my set out once and about had a nervous breakdown until I got it back.

I have one DVD of the movie on order and I'll probally buy another to lend out.

So spread the signal and buy more DVD's of both the series and the BDM.

Invisible sounds like fun...but you're not..lol.

Hi Chindi!

I thought I might get bitter about Firefly, when I first got to the addiction part where I got mad at Fox about cancelling it. It dawned on me one day when I was watching, that there COULD HAVE BEEN SO MUCH MORE! And I was MAD! But the good keeps outweighing the bad.. so I march on.

And I love it here, as you say among friends.

I watch them everyday... I've gone crazy for Firefly I'm afraid. And I still cry at them all the time, and when I've not had a chance to watch for awhile, I cry because I miss the crew. I know, I know, I'm silly.... but they touch me so.

My Mom is rewatching them all for the third time. She likes Mal, so she had me write down all the especial ones about Mal. LOL

We are having lasagna and garlic bread and salad.
My daughter whipped up the garlic spread and got the bread going and I just got in here from assembling the lasagna and sliding it into the oven.

*Shares cyber lasagna with all*.... my kids say I'm pretty good at cookin' lasagna, hope it's to everyone's likin'.

Be safe headin' home, Chindi!

It's sad to come to this so late, but it's really great to be out here "on the raggedy edge" now.

I'm amazed at all the browncoats who comment about buying an extra Firefly DVD set to use as a loaner for evangelizing the masses. My co-worker already bought another set and I'm thinking about doing the same.

Yes! I think this could be the beginning. Being old in years, I remember the post-Star Trek(original series) days when fans wrote letters and attended conventions when there was no project on the horizon. Eventually they got what they wanted. In our case, Universal/Fox/others will keep looking at all the DVD/Soundtrack/Book sales and see $ and that's what we need. As for me, I'll take my Firefly-Serenity delivered via TV/pay-per-view/Theatrical/Direct-to-DVD/whatever. I just want to see this crew and their ship fly on.

DONCOAT

When I see threads like this, I don't quite know whether to say "You're welcome" or "Yes, I say thanks too!"

You see, I was an original Browncoat -- watched most of the episodes on the-network-that-shall-not-be-named and was disappointed when it was cancelled. Twice, actually, since I thought it was cancelled before it actually was (due to the preemptions), then found it again (yay!), and then had to go through withdrawl all over again.

But I never really joined the wider Browncoat community. When the DVDs came out, I bought them immediately, and began giving away sets as presents; and I did evangelize and bring in a few converts. But I wasn't ever involved in the online fan community, or letter writing, convention-going, fan-fiction writing, or other flan activities.

Eventually I found FFF.net and lurked around; suffered in silence when Serenity's release date was pushed back; and eventually broke down and started posting here as BDM-day approached.

So, was I involved enough to accept kudos for the return of our BDHs? Or should I be counted among the latecomers? I hate gray areas...

I see no grey.

You were there from the beginning and did the same as everyone else. Just by yourself instead of as part of the group.

Good on ya!

I've only been a fan for less than a month now.

Just put this on my truck tonight (it arrived Yesterday from Artcat).

I got one sister hooked on Firefly last weekend. I'm gonna try for the other one on Sunday if I can get up to her place and strap her in a char for 2 hours...

I enjoyed talking to you too!
Good morning from here.

Dinner went well, with husband and daughter and I eating too much as usual, lol. Both of them love pasta so they really dive in.

How are you today? It's all cold and windy here in the heartland. Winter is really starting to set in.

We own horses, so I always feel sorry for the creatures outdoors this time of year.

But on a great note, "Serenity" is playing in Fayettleville, about a 2 hour drive from me, and if we can get stuff done in time, I'm going to try to talk hubby into going again. I don't think there's a really great chance, but a slim one I'll take!
