Okay, my most expensive pair of shoes are a pair of knee high black leather boots from New York, which I got for $185 on sale cos they were sample sized and no one else would buy them! But as a woman, this is a small price to pay to own what I have affectionately deemed as 'Franken-Hooker' boots (they look like is Frankenstein was a woman and a hooker like what he would wear).

My everyday shoes though are a pair of New Balance 470 or 485's. Those I got for like $25 a pair on clearance. I buy a lot of shoes on clearance where I can.

OMG this just became the shoe-thread. Or would it be more appropriate to call it the shoe-string???

MM vomit cleaning weekend, gonna say I would pass on that. I got a new TV and went and saw Walk the Line (which was really really good for all you cash fans out there, and even non-Cash fans).

yey, shoe talk!

I have huge feet, but then i'm tall so they fit me, I'm an english size seven, so i think that make a nine or ten or something in america? huge feet, so I initially always stayed away from pointy toes and went for cute little retro round toes, and then a couple of years ago i found the most gorgeous pair of soft soft soft italian leather ones with a short neat little points and was hooked, I wore those shoes to death, if theyed had more pairs i would have bought them all as they were only a fiver (approx $9 i think)
the thing is even though they are longer they really slim and flatter the feet, and they peek out from under the hems of skirts and jeans and look really good, really delicate (which when you are my size, is really desirable) so give them a go, you wont look back!

yes, its an unhealthy obsession, but whats fun that isn't?

as for weeding out the bad boys, i think we'd need to start talking about underwear...

Italian women must all have big feet, the shoes there somehow look good even in size 10! And they have really good band aid technology (wicked high heels + cobble stones + all out model walk = superior band aid required)

In Egypt they actualyl repaved one of the temples because the Italian women with thier fancy shoes were falling and breaking their ankles on the uneven stones. Isn't that ridiculous?? So apparently those Italian ladies aren't as sure on their feet as we supposed.

I love a really good high stiletto heel. There is something insanely attractive about it. Or maybe I just think there is.

My mother has size 9 feet and she always wears pointy toed shoes and they look fabulous. But they have to be narrow.

Also if I wear the rounded toe shoes (which I love cos I have a thing for retro anything) I honestly look like I am one of those Chinese ladies with the bound feet. it's hi-larious.

Oh! Shoes! Yay!

I used to wear a size 6 1/2 or 7, but I honestly think my feet have shunk because even my 6 1/2s are lose on me these days. But I'm short so I should have little feet.

I don't like pointy toed anything, but that's because I have wide feet and they never fit me. I adore anything with a rounded toe because it deaccentuates my wide feet. And it makes them look smaller, too.

And I don't like stilettos or narrow heels. I don't know why. I just don't. I used to work at a shoe store that sold "exotic" shoes. Most of our clientelle for these shoes were exotic dancers. You could always tell because they'd pay for their shoes all in ones. I once spent an entire day at the store in a pair of thigh high 4 inch heels on a dare. Never again!

My absolute favourite shoes are a pair of brown suede knee high lace up high heeled boots I got several years ago on sale out of a catalog.

I also have a fantastic pair of black patent leather boots with the funkiest heel. Like an hourglass.

And I love converses! I want a new pair, but whenever I find a colour I like, they're always out of my size.

oh the bliss of not having to shop for bra's!

yep, i always go to the shops and think, yeah, i should really buy them to match, so i spend more on a set, and then I get to the draw every morning and think 'whatever the hell leaps into my hands' it makes for some rather bizarre colour combinations, (especially as my socks never match either) and was just hoping to hell that i'm not the only one who does this...

I don't buy sets, nor do I care if top and bottoms match. I have to spend nearly $60 on one bra as it is, so I'm not going to spend extra money on matching panties.

Plus, it's not like anyone's seeing them. Maybe if someone was I'd care a bit more...

But I'm proud to report that today everything's pink! I didn't mean to match, but I sort of did!

Ok, Dead thread on Sun, so I waited til really late to check todayand the whole thing has blown up...
On to Q&A
Seryn: I'm not sure how to post a picutre in a thred. I think it has to be hosted on a net server. Then you could just add the URL to the post, I think. If that doesn't do it, it will at least show up as a link to the image. I have no online storage space to hold images so I don't do that stuff. Wish I could be more helpful.

Seryn and BEG: I'm confused, is the talk of shoes supposed to scare off the nice boys, or only the nice boys would stay and talk about shoes? And the Bra and Panty conversation...Ummm nice boys stay or boys that stay and talk about bras and panties aren't nice?

BEG: Not a foot/shoe fetishist, But the black boot thingies inspire. I would love to see these "FrankenHooker" boots you speak of. Anything from black soft leather ankle boots with the zipper, to Shiny black leather thigh highs with all manner of hanging rings and straps. They catch my eye.

Ladies: Bras and Panties: Wear (or not) whatever is comfortable. Most guys, if they get to the point that they are seeing you in just these items, are unlikey to say, "Black panties with a Pink Bra? Oh God that's it, it's over. I'm out of here." Dong Ma?

Having revealed too much, I wander to the next thread...

The topic: womens underwear.
The challenge: saying something interesting that will not offend my lady friends.

Scorpion steps out onto the tight rope and walks out into the great void. Observe the lack of net. At the center of the span he stops, clears his voice and speaks.
I am aware that the are some women who have two separate collections of underwear. The first is the plain, comfortable underwear for every day. The second is the sexy, but uncomfortable underwear for when they are entertaining a man. Is this true for you or do you consider yourself to be entertainment enough and save you money for more important things or is all you underwear sexy, but uncomfortable because secretly you are a masochist?

No underwear is fabulously comfortable, but the cotton is an easier fabric to wear, unfortunetly, unless you are super efficient at laundering, or you have a butler, there is no way i've ever found that white will stay bright white beyond five washes. If I could just invent non graying cotton, god i'd be so rich,

I'd have enough to fund series 2.

Right, any scientists here? get started, if we work quick enough... all you lawyers get started on the patent and anyone who wants to help me with the marketing...

I hate to break it to you, but blueing compound and bleach were invented a longtime ago, so no fortune, but maybe now your undies will be white.

I am proud to say that I own not a single pair of solid white undies. I do have one pair that's mostly white, with hot pink trim, but that's because they came in a set with a hot pink stripey pair that caught my eye.

Nor do I own a single pair of black panties.

I'm somewhere in the middle, I guess.

I don't have a problem finding underwear that is comfortable, cute and practical. Bras are the hard shop. Bane of my existance and whatnot.

Seryn: I think I might be the last of a dying breed. Although I will qualify as such: I do have the 'everyday' and 'special occasion' undies. I'm a matcher, if I buy a bra I have to buy at least 2 pairs of underwear to match (I don't use the word panties cos it sounds like something a child molestor would say, or maybe that's just me). I'm primarily a psycho about this when I go out some place where there is a snow ball's chance in hell that someone else might see them. Plus they make me feel sexy. Women forsake comfort for beauty every day, and I don't mind if that means a g-string and a push-up bra. Cos it makes me feel pretty or whatever. Also While I am a matcher pretty much everything I own is black with the exception of a few lighter colored bras to wear under light colors (which I pretty much never wear), so it's not too hard to always match when it's black to black. Just ask Victoria's Secret, who I ended up with a gold card for cos I can't stop feeding my need to have more pretty undies. It's a sick addiction, right up there with shoes. God sometimes I'm girly.

PS: We all know that men could give 2 shits what we have on. By the time they get to the underwear they are so excited to be getting some that they could really care if you were wearing burlap and blood larvae. ALTHOUGH all of you have a prefrence. Why do I say this? Cos the last 4 guys I was with each had a preference, one liked black bikini's another had a thing for thongs. You all have a preference, but it's not so important.

About the whites: Well ScorpionRegent, bleach isn't as simple as you think. Much like Seryn I can't keep white undies white (thus I stopped buying them, black never gets all gross colored), and I tried bleach (turned them yellow after a few washes) and it did crap. I've actually tried nearly every method on earth to keep 'em white, but much like white T-shirts, I fail and they either end up grey or yellow. I blame the cotton industry for doing something screwy tot he cotton. Seryn: I'm with you on this, non-fading white would be the way to go! We'd make zillions!

BTW: gentlemen, just so you all know, there are probably 5 women on the face of the earth that find tighty whities attractive. For gods sake please work the boxers, the boxer-brief or go commando. The tighty-whities just give us all the willies, or at least all teh women I know. Go ahead and wear them when you don't think any woman is going to see them, but if there's a snow ablls chance in hell those pants are coming off, please wear the boxers. Also Euro-guys that goes the same for the wierd black-tighties you guys work. They freak me out!

BEG, freakin' on the whities...

Well, i'm gonna go with BEG and state that i'm just not comfortable with the word panties, so i'm just going to get all english at you and shout knickers!

I gave up on white cotton too, after awhile bleach just makes things so skanky, so most of my stuff now is black or brightly coloured, and i never match, unless by accident, I think the last time I did was for a first date (we did things kind of arse about face, and were together for several weeks before we got round to a 'date' date) he invited two of his friends along with us, needless to say he didn't get to see all the effort I'd gone to - ever again -

and I kind of lost heart after that...

Underwear is fun to wear, I wonder where my underwear?
Under here, under there
Under sea, under stair
Under noodle, under wagon
Under pooodle, under dragon
Underwear is fun to wear, I wonder where my underwear?

(I learned this in like 7th grade so I maybe didn't remember all the words right.)

And I agree with cotton, but not white.

KNICKERS!! I so prefer knickers. 'panties' just gives me the creeps. When ever a guy says panties I want to cringe.

And yes, I am a fan of cotton (Victoria's Secret 'Pink' collection makes awesome bikini's (cos I like to have my actual ass covered) and they are in all sorts of fun, bright patterns and colors, I have puppy knickers from there and they are soo cute) as well. Technically according to health care providers that is all we should be wearing anyway.

The underwear song was lovely. It gave me a moment of thinking about the Barenaked Ladies song where they say 'I just made you say underwear,' which sadly, still cracks me up.

SERYN

In a radical change of direction (hold on)

I was reading in the film companion interview with Joss that he fully intends to bring back everyone (yes, EVERYONE) should he get the chance to continue the series/do sequels. Something along the lines of 'no magic amulets or demon powers, but yes, i'd be bringin' 'em all back'

now has this already been discussed and squashed, or do I have leave to go and do lots of happy scooby dancing with my plastic dino's? (would you believe I actually had them before i ever saw an episode -yes, i'm that strange)

another radical tangent (told you to hold on)

My mother, dear thing, wants to know if Adam Baldwin is one of the Baldwins, as in billy and alec et al, cos if he is she's going to have to stop slagging them off.

and yet again (anyone hit the deck yet? no? good good)

I finally worked out who Nathan Fillion reminds me of - Josh Homme from the Queens of the Stoneage - in a less gingery-grumpy manner of course, come to think of it, Josh's hair is exactly the same colour as Alans, wierd that...

My favourite knickers (I always think Knickerbockers and it just makes me giggle.) are from PacSun. They have cute designs (I love anything tropical) and I love their boycut ones.

I don't like Victoria's Secret because they never carry bras in my size.

BLACKEYEDGIRL

::Does the Scooby Dance with Dinos:: I heard that all 9 of them are signed on for 3 movies, should Universal decide to do the other 2 (it was in their contracts). Which makes me happy!!

Adam Baldwin is NOT a Baldwin brother. He's from Winnetka Illinois, not wherever the other ones are from. Its okay, my mom wondered the same thing.

Yay!!

we're talkin about knickers now? Wow, you miss a week and suddenly Frederick's has taken over FFF.

When I wear them, they're lacey...anything lacey: boycut, french, g-string, bikini...just lacey.

JADEHAND

Didn't mean to be creepy. I think Cotton and black are the way to go. All mine are Black or Grey. Cotton. Boxerbrief. I tried "working" them, but I'm just not very good at that yet. Most all of my clothing is Black. As you said, it makes matching so much easier. Sure I have various colored dress shirts to wear with my black slacks and black silk tie. Pink just doesn't work for me *sniff*.

So we started out in the original hidey place hunting ideal mates, then covered ideal locations and ideal under garments. I'm curious about future topics.

Would it be indiscreet of me to ask what that size is?

Yes, it would be.

But it wouldn't be the first time someone's been indiscreet on this thread.

That's a shame, because you look so nice in warm colours. That orange "let's be bad guys" shirt of yours is a great colour for you. You should wear more brown, you look good in brown. (Course, I think we should all wear more brown!)
