Hey, folks. As some of you may know, a group of us are working on virtual continuation of the series. We have a fair amount of writers (although we wouldn't necessarily turn away a few more serious writers), but could use some artists.

Right now, the artistic portion of the project is sort of up for grabs, so serious artists who'd like to help shape a Firefly project can post here or send a direct message to me.

Thanks!

George (head writer)

We're looking for people who produce artwork to compliment the Scripts produced by the writing team. The exact format isn't set yet, but probably looking at 'Cover' art, stills, storyboards and so on.

Hey, I might be interested. But what exactally do you mean by "virtual continuation of the series"? Like an animated version of Firefly made by fans? It seems like that might break some copyright laws. If not it could be pretty awesome, that model of Serenity you did was amazing.

To answer your question, what we're doing is basically reviving Firefly through the use of fan-created scripts that will also eventually feature accompanying artwork and video. For a decent example of what we're eventually going to do (or an approximation of what we're going to do), I reccommend checking out the following links:

OR

Addressing the legality of this type of thing, I've never heard of anyone in an official capacity on any television series (past or present) objecting to fanfiction projects of this type, but I don't believe that we will incur any legal ramifications with ours because Joss has given his blessing to the fanfiction genre.

Take my love
Take my land
Take me where I cannot stand
I don't care
I'm still free
You can't take the sky from me
Take me out to the black
Tell 'em I ain't comin' back
Burn the land and boil the sea
You can't take the sky from me
There's no place I can be
Since I've found Serenity
But you can't take the sky from me

What are you looking for Cartoony, Anime, comic book or Realistic cause all I can do very well is Realistic.

Or all of the above .

Some of the major stylings I was imagining (for storyboards and such) were Cartoony/Comic Book with traces of perhaps Anime or at least traditional Chinese artwork, as that would fit nicely with the styles of the show it self.

Having said that realistic imagery would also be great for 'cover' artwork and the odd still. There's not going to be one real style I think, just styles used where they would best fit if that makes any sense to you.

No, we started this project with out knowledge of FireFly the Virtual Season 2.

We've only just found out about it ourselves, but we are moving in somewhat different direction to FFVS2.

Not to give too much away...
We're finishing off the 1st seasons episodes (16-22) incorporating likely backstory for the movie, and expanded versions of the comic story-lines.

We plan to then do the second and possibly third seasons, and so on.

It's possible. But we're basically filling in the gap between the TV series and the movie by using canonical information found in the comics/novels and our creativity, and then we plan to have another season, set after the movie, etc. later.

But yes, the 'verse is big enough. :)

Can't draw for toffee but I'm a good digital colourist if any of the artists you get want to see their work coloured.

I think the main difference between our interpretation and the other is that our main focus is answering the question "What if Whedon had been able to tell the story of Serenity in 22 episodes rather than 2 hours?"

Obviously, there will be many stories that are totally unconnected to the movie, but our "season two" will ultimately go to the same places that the movie does, but in much more depth.

Once we decided on this as a focal point, we decided that we wanted to flesh out the remaining seven episodes of season one (to bring it to a traditional 22 eps) as part of the ride.

We've already have a definite arc for season three in mind, and are looking beyond that, but, hey, that's 29 episodes away for us...

Having just finished watching "Serenity" on DVD, the more "Firefly" the better, I say!

let me know if you want to see some of the things what I've drawed, I'm quite good at life drawing and capturing faces but I don't have a 'portfolio' so its a tad scattered.
