Forgive me if somebody already posted this but...

Anybody else watch this yet? I can't tell if they're trying to parody horror films, or if they're being serious about it being "that scary". for one am not a Horoor fan, but it looks funny enough that it might be worth it. Plus, it stars our leading man Nathan Fillion. He's got a couple of good lines in the trailer too.

And a little note more, check out the guy who says "you ever seen anything like that?!" look familiar to anyone?

We sniff the air, we don't kiss the dirt.

I think the movie is along the "Tremors" or Eight-Legged Freaks" line. Looks funny though.

Nathan is looking good in the trailer. When is it being released?

BTW isn't the actor who makes the remark about Animal Planet the same actor that played the sheriff in "The Train Job"? If not it could be his brother.

Yep, definitely "The Train Job"'s sheriff. IMDB has it listed under "trivia" for the movie. Also, they have the release date listed as March 31, 2006.

That's what I thought too!

And Nathan looks great in the trailer. I hope he can get more movie deals. He sure deserves them.

Yeah, 8-legged Freaks was the very first thing that popped into my mind. It's knows it's cheesy but is made like a horror movie. Tremors...I don't know. I thought Tremors was pretty darn scary for its time, though it was very witty as well. I think this Slither movie looks pretty bad, but I thought that 8-legged Freaks was pretty corny too. I'll still see it though, especially since Nathan is not only in it, but starring in it.

Yeah, that was Gregg Henry.

That's exactly what I was thinking when I saw the trailer. I've never seen "Eight-Legged Freaks", but I've seen "Tremors" about umpteen times, and it never really gets old. It doesn't take itself too seriously, and there is a serious dearth of movies that can claim that honor.

The "Evil Dead" movies, especially the last one, are like that, too.

I must admit, I probably wouldn't see this if Nathan Fillion wasn't in it, but knowing the man's sense of humor, how can I resist?

Watch the much better quality and bigger sized version here:

http://www.apple.com/trailers/universal/slither/

And yeah I'm 99% sure it's mean to be a parody but with actual horror in it. i.e. not like Scary Movie but more poking fun at its own genre as it goes along.

Nathan just has KILLER facial expressions. If Hollywood had half a brain, they'd be sticking that man in every single type of role out there. Good to see even the extras of Firefly are getting into new roles as well.

Yep, Nathan's ability to act while speaking into a mouth piece is staggering. He's so good at it he did it in the Serenity trailer and now the Slither one as well. Quite remarkable.

This is a good updated trailer, gives you some idea of what the movie's about. There was a teaser out for a while that didn't show our Nathan much if at all. They went and changed the gag at the beginning though! The original was "THEY WERE ALL FOR PUSSIES" Sissies just doesn't have the same impact...... Course if this was a sensored cut of the trailer... well I don't think I'll be seeing it in the theater, wait till I'm in the comfort (and proximity to the toilet) of my own home.

I believe that is a remake. I'm pretty sure I remember watching the same idea in an Eighties flick. Space leaches... from outer space!
/me wants to see it.

Nathan Fillion and Gregg Henry, together again...

Now THERE's a good tagline.

Not much into horror flicks myself, but a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do... that is to say, watch it through my fingers in the comfort of my own home when the DVD comes out.

Sorry guys. If I had someone to climb all over at the movies, I'd go.

HKCAVALIER

I started watching this trailer about a month ago thinking, "Ach. Not another one of these. No reason to go see--wait a minute, was that--? Oh no, I'm gonna have to see this... "
HKCavalier

Hey, hey, hey, don't be mean. We don't have to be mean, because, remember, no matter where you go, there you are.

Yeah, what he said.

I'd love to have an HKCavalier to climb all over in the theater... shame you don't live in Minnesota.

No wait... it's snowing only every minute of the day here now. Never mind.

yeah, probably would have gone to see it just for nathan (it doesn't matter two hoots what he's saying, just as long as he keeps talking...)

but the line 'and I watch animal planet all the time' just sold me, I reckon i'm gonna enjoy that one.

Kids, Nathan is already shooting his next film, "Waitress", a romcom with Keri Russell. Check it out on IMDB if you didn't already know.
