You can borrow a pair of my flannels if you like. I have fluffy clouds and chocolate moose (not mousse, moose!)

I also have Mr. Potato Head bottoms if anyone's interested.

No offense to anyone, but it's probably best if I not jump into the current conversation.

I'll just sit here on my couch, have my steaming hot soup, and enjoy being indoors with you people.

(Just, y'know, keeping my foot in the door.)

Don't be silly this is the nook. You could sit around for a whole week wearing nothing but a smile or a clown suit and gas mask and no one will know the difference from street clothes until you say something. If you feel any better I'm currently dressing you in my mind in a tie died fleece caftan.

I forbid public-suitable PJ's. Won't stand for it.

what am I wearing, certainly not tie-dyed fleece, nor a kaftan.

It's about 1 am here, so funnily enought i'm in my night clothes, so camisole top and fleecy (not! fleece) cottom pj bottoms. And gold coloured kitten heels. (I can't seem to ever take them off...)

or were you hoping that we would start lying to you?

Tie died caftans are perverse or was it the clown suit? What are kitten heels? No I wasn't hoping for sweet lies, only what you want to share with me. I could dream all night about what you might be wearing, but that really have nothing to do with you only my imagination and I find that my friends are far too valuble to be exploited for selfish fantasies. If imaginations are to be employed for fantasies then they should be collaborative.

I'm wearing jeans and t-shirt. Some rings on my left hand and small studs in my ears.

If you want I could change though. The clown suit is at the cleaners, but I'm sure I can find something that's just not right.

I'm wearing what dudes wear. Cargo pants and a t-shirt.

(In case anyone wants to know) The shirt bears the TNT logo and reads "We Know Drama". Which is an out-and-out lie, as TNT wouldn't know drama from a hole in the ground.

It used to be a good channel, but now it's the Law & Order / Alias channel. TNT, .

Sorry. I'll stop.

the kaften, dyed fleece? ew.

The perversion thing was actually a mutated quote from muppets treasure Island (cabin fever, ahhh!) gonzo's got starfish down his pants and rizzo says something like, 'you and your hobbies'

'cept 'hobbies' didn't work so well.

so welcome, this is how my brain (barely) works at 1:42 am.

I'm wearing chocolate moose pajamas and I don't care. I'd rather be warm than sexy any day. And besides, who sees them? Me. Myself, and I. And we think we look damn cute.

I can't sleep (AGAIN) and I'm very grumpy.

I like the cuddle thing because I think it'd be cozy. I think maybe I could take a nap that way. And I would LOVE a nap right about now.

This tea tastes like crap.

Sorry. I'm very grumpy when I can't sleep and have to drink the nasty tasting tea. I'll try to be more cheerful tomorrow.

Ugh, I couldn't sleep last night, either. That's a really horrible thing, hah.

I lovelovelove to cuddle...but - yes, always a but - when it comes to sleeping next to someone, i love to cuddle at first and then take up my own part of the bed. I have a hard time sleeping while cuddling. I think it's my fear of disturbing the other person.

Seryn: I'm flattered that you would stay up so late to talk to us. As for the hobbies concept Woody Allen made a similar joke in one of his movies, it's a bit adult so I won't repeat it. Hey so I'm weird, if I wasn't I probably wouldn't have found you guys. All I can say is sometimes you have to accept some extra strangeness in your friends. Hey at least I didn't dress you in a hot pink sequinned burka with snowshoes, flip me I just did!

Never going to live this one down. The most I can hope for is tha no one reads this till morning so the rest of you can sleep without nightmares.

well i'm back, an awful lot earlier than I expected to be (all four people I arranged to share a taxi with couldn't, for some reason or other, actually share, I ended up leaving early to get back to my side of the river and beat the taxi ques)

'Twas an amusing night, not always for the right reasons, I have seen some of the worst dancing, or best, depending on how you look at it, In my life -one of the the girls I worked with asked at one point where they learned that dancing, the only thing i could say was 'weddings and bah mitzva's' i've never seen anything like it, one guy we decided though learned it all working in gay variety shows - at that point he was actually pretending to ride a horse and slapping his own ass.repeatedly. He also did the robot, the moonwalk, the pelvic thrusts, (erm, in the direction of another, very surprised, bloke) the sauturday night fever pointing, the pulp fiction finger thing, and the windmilling air guitar, all with out the slighted trace of irony, or rhythm for that matter. I did a little dancing myself, unfortunetly only a little - the DJ was about twelve, yet didn't appear to have purchased a recored after 1990 (deacon blue featured heavily)some one convinced him to take requests, so I asked for maximo parks 'apply some pressure' and got Usher At one point I actually had to go and pull a friend away from him when she decided to go and give him some 'pointers'.
There were also some absolutly horrid - bits I got touched up by a guy three times my age (musuem attendants + alcohol = perverts)
for his troubles he got a swift put down and any extremely patronising pat on the head, I would have loved to have done the usual thing of an elbow in the gut or a heel in shins (more effective than it sounds) but I didn't think it a good idea to maim some one I supposedly work with. Dammit.

The food was yummy, crispy duck pankakes all round! and - the biggest surprise of the night - there was an over abundance of eye candy (me wants onto the handling team) including one guy who looked an awful lot like Adam Baldwin. sadly he spent the latter half of the party canoodling with his girlfriend , otherwise I may just have revised my 'no snogging at first glance rule'

all in all, apart from the icky groping, was a better night than I expected.

It was missing one very important thing though...
CALVINBALL!

*kicks off heels, puts on small, rakish zorro mask*
*runs, picks up ball*
*dribbles expertly around bar, continues to bounce ball while fixing herself an dry martini*
*run back out of bar, leaps over jadehands beanbag, slam dunks ball to score *

*returns to bar and sips drink*

so how is everybody?

I just got back from my Christmas party, too. Not nearly as exciting as yours. No dancing, no duck. Also no food I could eat. Well, not entirely true. I had salad and broccoli and then filled on crackers and brie and dessert. Not complaining, mind you, since there was german chocolate cake and these divine pecan tarts.

My cinnamon cheesecake went over very well and I had a bit much to drink (for me, which really isn't alot.) I managed to avoid all talk of work until the very end when the music director kind of cornered me. Very annoyed about that. But it was a fun night, after all. Everyone is much more fun when they have drinks in their hands.

I'm very awake now, though. I shouldn't have had soda.

I too had a Christmas party of sorts at work today. 'Of sorts,' because it was basically everyone taking their lunch break to eat all the food everyone brought for everyone else. The highlight were a tray of pizza rolls that I didn't know were pizza rolls until I stopped to look at my last one to see what was actually in it.

For most of the day, instead of actual work, I worked on my list of Top Ten films of 2005 (being an up-and-coming film critic, it's sorta what I do). Serenity did make it to the top spot, but just barely.

Afterwards, the family went to a Christmas concert the local TV station held here in town. It was fun. Now that I'm finally home, it's time to get in CalvinBall mode!

*Dons a Phantom of the Opera mask*
Now, let it be war upon you both!
*snags the ball, begins dribbling it towards the goalposts, stops, and with both hands, sends the ball crashing toward the floor and bouncing back up, over the goalposts for a modest score of *

That's right. Go me.

No problem I can see. Not a good idea asking for a problem, wait long enough and life will provide you with plenty, unasked for.

Mixes up a bloody mary san. A bloody mary with wasabi unstead of horseradish.
It's really good once you recover from the sensation your nose has just been broken.

JADEHAND

I got up just after 8 myself, my problem? Had to come to work. And I was on chat til 3ish. Soon I'll be off to a little Christmas gathering, and yet I've not finished my shopping for those that will be there. I hate giving gift cards, but that might be what I'm left with.
Enjoy the coffee folks, I don't drink it myself. I'll stick with the Coke.

ice water? man are you missing out!

theres a whole world there of marvellous things like sugar and caffine and e-numbers, just waiting for exploration. A whole plethora of (often natural) chemicals existing simply to make you a lot less sleepy than you were.

And you're sipping ice water.

tell me darlin' how's that working for ya?

*hands LMD a packet of haribo starmix*

man, the tales I could tell of the wild nights on this stuff...

nah, only kiddin'

sort of

no, it's just that i'm almost hyper sensitive to e-numbers, mainly 'cause of haribo - long and involved backstory...

oh, go on then,

*gets comfy*

ok, for the three years was in collage I 'et large amount of haribo, for the simple reason that it was the only thing we were allowed to take into the workrooms with us (there is almost absolutly no way you can mark fabric with that stuff - we tried, lots)

It became a kind of currency (can you please... ooh, thats gonna cost you at least a party tub..., bribe (I bought you sweets, please make me look good...) peace offering (ok, so I borrowed your expensive shears to cut up cardboard, I bought you sweets to say sorry...)
and comfort blanket (ok, so the industrial overlocker just savaged the sleeve of your project, screaming and wailing wont help, here have...)

one girl likened it to the way cocaine is used in the music industry.
then we all tried to forget about that conversation.

as a result, my entire college career was almost entirely free of (real) drugs, smoking, drinking and all the other naughties on offer, because all it took to make you happily bubbly and giggly was a childrens party bag sized portion of starmix.

I also meant I got through the show days of waking at 6am and getting out of work at 12:30 am, and still having to get home, relatively unscathed - and all hangover free.

told you it was a long story.

but I think point of what i'm saying is, well... lesser evils. thats it, its a lesser evil.oh, and useful, to a point

aw hell I just love the way they taste, especially the little ring ones
